There are literally millions of names that are better than Paul.

BurningBright7 · 20/10/2021 04:00

Not sure what the issue is…

ducksalive · 20/10/2021 04:13

I'm a Brit living in the USA, I can't see Paul being a difficult name.
Are there any other names you like?

belimoo · 20/10/2021 04:22

Is there a Korean name you like? Maybe we could help you with an American name which sounds similar?

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 20/10/2021 04:23

I like it 🙂

Paul's a great name. It's not very common for new babies at the moment but it's a nice, normal name.

If you don't have strong preferences about names and want to avoid being unusual then you could just look up the top ten baby names in your state for 2020 and choose one you like.

Paul*

Blubells · 20/10/2021 10:10

Bullied? What about Paul could cause bullying?

daisypond · 20/10/2021 10:26

Paul is a fine name. It’s not so popular in the UK right now but it’s been a top-ten name for babies in Germany for years.

DuneFan · 20/10/2021 12:58

As a US resident you could claim to be naming him after Paul Revere. Well known us historical figure.

Its a great name and quite unusual (in a good way) these days. A bit dated in the UK but not in a bad way.

You might also like John, Mark, Luke, if you are looking for a short and strong name.

Buttons294749 · 20/10/2021 20:35

Perfectly acceptable

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/10/2021 20:41

There are some lovely Korean names. Really easy to speak and pronounce as well. Where do you live? It doesn't sound great if you're so worried.

Why don't you give him a Korean name to reflect his heritage?

Can't they be banned already?

I don't know of any bad associations with Paul. It's not very popular in he UK right now, but it's timeless and classic enough that nobody would be really surprised if someone used it. I can't comment on the situation in America as I've never lived there.
