Unusual/rare girls names

I have looked all over the baby name threads already on here and still can't find one we like. Almost 30 weeks pregnant with baby girl and we just cannot agree on a name.
We both like more unusual names but not so unusual that it would sound silly or be spelt ridiculous if that makes sense. I want a pretty name, something that sounds lovely and sweet but not something you would hear very often.
I really want to name her before shes here so please help us choose a name that we can agree on. Thanks in advance!

I like the name Lillia/Lilia. Pretty but uncommon.

Emmeline

Good luck!

@TillyDevon

BeeandG I’m glad it’s not just me, I know two people who named their girls before they were even born and didn’t get it as I changed DD’s name as soon as first saw her!
I think I'd have put money on dd1 being Chloe or Charlotte but it just didn't suit her. We were more decided with dd2 but partly because we knew she was a girl.
cantthinkofanything1 · 07/10/2021 21:20

We do seem to lean more towards shorter names. Usually names that are just two syllables. Theres a few names that have been suggested so far that we've already discussed but not agreed on. Think we're being so fussy but want to get it right. I don't want to regret her name in the future.
A few names that i like are: Mabel, Maeve, Rosa, Nova, Willow, Maya, Marcie, Joni, Nola.

Willow definitely isn’t a rare name at the moment, I have a one year old and there are lots of Willow’s in baby groups. A couple of Nova’s too.

@HarryLimeFoxtrot

The most unusual ones I’ve come across are probably Hebe, Ixia, Manon, Nonie, Oriel, Seville, Thomasine and Wanda.
Oriel is my favourite girls’ name (spelled Oriol though, as in Lady Oriol Bowden).
