I’d love everyone’s opinions on this name for a girl. What do people think?

I really like it! Like wolfie I’ve only met one and she was lovely.

Snowdropsandbluebells · 27/09/2021 21:16

Beautiful

Plotato · 27/09/2021 21:18

Just met a lovely 3 year old called this and commented what a nice name it is. I don't think it's 80s in the same way Gemma / Louise / Lisa are. I thought it was unusual but didn't immediately think it was dated or anything.

Kindlethefourth · 27/09/2021 21:20

I think of Priscilla Presley in Dallas but it is a nice name and most people wouldn't think of that connection nowadays

@Kindlethefourth, Jenna Wade same thought

I really like it

I'm a big Jennifer fan. It's a beautiful classic name that you can shorten to Jenna then she can choose Jenny, Jen, Fern if she likes as she gets older.

daisypond · 27/09/2021 22:12

I like it.

weegiemum · 27/09/2021 22:13

It's ok I suppose

My dd1 was really badly bullied by a Jenna, so I think that clouds the opinion I have of the name.

Prefer Jennifer by a mile.

dalmatianmad · 27/09/2021 22:15

I like the name Jenna, I went to school with a girl called Jenna, it was unfortunate her surname was Taylor
She was bullied at Senior school because of it 😪

SeanChailleach · 27/09/2021 22:17

Blake's Seven character

BobbyMcGeeAndMe · 28/09/2021 10:43

Just in case anyone else is puzzled by the Jenna Taylor reference, Jenna Taylor = Genitalia.
It took me 10 minutes googling to figure it outSmile

witchlikehazel · 28/09/2021 10:58

Nice - is it short for Jennifer? Maybe find an official name for certificates etc that is more formal?

Mamacita191 · 28/09/2021 11:12

Thanks guys!

It isn’t short for Jennifer, as someone previously mentioned it means heaven in Arabic and we need a name that goes well in Arabic as well as English due to heritage of LO and I’ve always loved Jenna!

Ah sorry, OP.
Jenna meaning heaven is lovely.
Name does stand fine on its own.

FeedMeSantiago · 28/09/2021 14:20

Jenna's a great name, well known but not overused. I went to school with a lovely Jenna, never met another.

GloomAndDoom · 28/09/2021 14:33

Nice 👌

ilovebw · 28/09/2021 14:39

Lovely name

ILoveShula · 28/09/2021 14:56

Not keen. Gemma and Jenny are much nicer. Jenna tends to sound like Jenner

GreenClock · 28/09/2021 15:06

😍 love it

Would have been a bit naff in the 1980s when Dallas was so huge but that’s irrelevant now.

millzcrawf · 28/09/2021 16:37

It okay- I don't hate it but also don't love it. Maybe that's because I know a Jenna who is in her 30's ?

BubbleCoffee · 28/09/2021 16:42

I prefer Jennifer or Gemma.

BubbleCoffee · 28/09/2021 16:43

Jemima nn Jemma is nice IMO.

The popularity now may be celebrity inspired. The celebrity in question was born in 1986 and like many of her contemporaries is a -Louise

Jenna is the main character in Waitress.
