Help choosing a name for my baby girl

My husband and I have been working on names since we found out we’ll be having a little girl. At first we realized we had VERY different taste in baby names, but have since agreed on two options that we both like and need help choosing between the two. Do you prefer:

Lottie Wren
Wren Lorelei

For context, Wren is the only name that we both came up with independently. My husband LOVES the name Lottie. He is a very realistic, in the moment person and rarely has very strong opinions about anything. Months before we were even trying to conceive, we watched a show and there was a girl named Lottie and he said “that’s a great name. If we have a little girl one day, we should consider Lottie.” If we go with Lottie, that will be here name. It won’t be a nickname for anything. We threw around the idea of having it be a nickname but decided 1) we should just name our kid what we will call them and 2) her last name will be hyphenated and we don’t want to make things more complicated. Lastly, Lorelei is another name we both decided we really liked, but worried it would be too long with a hyphenated last name. Anyway, sorry for the novel. Any input would be appreciated!

I always think Wren looks better than it sounds so I would definitely use it in the middle name spot. Both Lottie and Lorelei are lovely first names.

Charlotte Wren

I have no idea about Gimore Girls but I wouldn't want my daughter to be named after a seductress who lured sailors to be wrecked, or to have a name shorted to Lori.

I like wren the bird, but struggle with it for the name of a person.

So that all said, if it were me I'd name her Charlotte surname surname, which is enough for anyone to work with, and call her Lottie as a short everyday form. Who knows, her nickname, which usually derives from something much more personal than parents' choices, could be something totally different.

I think Lottie Wren has a nicer ring to it Smile

@Alfxn

If you are really between the two, whereas your husband has one he greatly prefers, I would go with that one for sure.

I think it's quite sweet that he had a name in mind before you were ever even pregnant!

I agree with this although I do really like Lorelei
