I've come across this name for a boy, I think it's nice but not heard of it before. I thought it could be shortened to Pax. Wondered what people's thoughts were? Also, it is a Cornish name meaning Easter but baby would not be born at Easter ...

I didn't know about the Easter meaning - that is lovely.
To me it sounds like a surname though.
I also know a dog with this name.

How about Pascal, which is more of a first name in my mind, and related.

IVflytrap · 16/09/2021 10:58

Love it, great name!

ILoveShula · 16/09/2021 11:51

It's more of a surname than a first name. Pascal is better but you will heat PAS-cal and Pas-CAL.
Both names are closely associated with Easter.

DramaAlpaca · 17/09/2021 00:11

No. It's a surname to me, has a nice meaning but not a nice sound.

Coffeeonmytoffee · 17/09/2021 00:18

No

BrownEyedSquirrel · 17/09/2021 00:21

I associate it strongly with Easter as I speak several meditation languages.

fallfallfall · 17/09/2021 00:29

i prefer pascal.

bonfireheart · 17/09/2021 00:35

Pax are the IKEA wardrobes.

Pascoe sounds like a surname.

MajorNeville · 17/09/2021 00:42

Just awful and Paxo is stuffing.

Kanaloa · 17/09/2021 02:28

I’m not keen, and I don’t like Pax much either. I’d always think it Pax as short for Paxton rather than Pascoe.

LowbrowVictoriana · 17/09/2021 11:44

It's a bit surnamey for my liking, sorry!

Zarene · 17/09/2021 12:26

I like it, and I usually don't like surnames as first names. I do associate it very strongly with Easter though.

ChrissyPlummer · 17/09/2021 12:54

Just reminds me of Sarah Pascoe. It’s a surname.

purplemunkey · 17/09/2021 12:59

Wouldn't it be Pasc for short? Pax doesn't quite work. It's ok, same as the other names that sounds surname-y e.g. Bailey, Grayson etc, they tend to be a bit marmite for people. But if you like it go for it. It's not an embarrassing name in any way and I can imagine Pasc working as a nickname. I don't think baby not being born at Easter matters does it? Hollys and Ivys aren't all born at Christmas are they?

peaceinourtime · 17/09/2021 15:22

I haven't heard of Pascoe being used as a first name before. I think its nice and would age well.

frogswimming · 17/09/2021 15:39

Yeah I think it sounds a bit surnamey and prefer Pascal (which is lovely) as well as pp.

Strugglingtodomybest · 17/09/2021 15:44

I don't like it.

Cindie943811A · 17/09/2021 20:48

I think it sounds fine as a first name. There are 2 kinds of people — those who like surnames as first names and those who do not. So you can’t please everyone.
If you like it use it — it’s certainly not OTT.
Pax means Peace in Latin, which is nice. Angelina Jolie’s eldest is named Pax.

Cornishmumofone · 17/09/2021 20:50

It's a common surname in Cornwall but I've never heard of it as a first name.

SherbertLemons · 18/09/2021 00:04

Reminds me of one of the characters in Stephen Kings Pet Cemetery. Not good

E11en · 18/09/2021 00:07

Oh is it Cornish? I met a Pascoe in Ireland.

I prefer Rosco
Is there an e on the end of Rosco?

coffeealldayandnight · 18/09/2021 00:09

Love it! There was a baby on a recent Michael Moseley documentary about child development called pascoe and I loved it then too!

cherrytree63 · 18/09/2021 00:22

@SherbetLemons
You beat me to it.

Snugglybuggly · 18/09/2021 00:36

Awful

xprincessxjanetx · 18/09/2021 00:39

Not keen i'm afraid
