Challenge to find a timeless, uncommon-ish boy’s name

Haven’t found a single boys name that we agree on for impending DS2. DS1 has a fairly unusual, Welsh name with great nickname potential-it’s perfect. I’ve read the entire 2019 ONS list and not found anything.
Must be ‘timeless’- ie. not shot up in popularity recently like Arlo, Albie etc type names.
Would like it to ‘go’ with DS1 so ideally not too common (although this doesn’t put me off entirely) and possibly have Welsh roots (we have links but live in England)
I think I need to be open to starting from scratch to find something because clearly I’m being too fussy!
If I had to choose a name tomorrow it would be Laurie. This has been vetoed by DH!
Please help!

My son is Owen - I love it. It has never been hugely popular , but it is timeless and easy to pronounce / spell . It also means a young warrior which he likes !

Laloo4 · 05/09/2021 07:54

Emrys or Idris?

BreakfastOfWaffles · 05/09/2021 07:57

@GuckGuckDoose indeed! I have never heard of IoIo. How do you pronounce it? I am reading it like YoYo! Or is it Yolo? That one has sadly been claimed by YouTubers though 😀

lightand · 05/09/2021 07:57

Rufus?

Look up Bible/novel/classic "posh" names?

R0tational · 05/09/2021 08:01

@BreakfastOfWaffles "Yollo" I believe.

GuckGuckDoose · 05/09/2021 08:02

I’m not even going to try to write it phonetically, but - like this guy does!!

(Not a dodgy link, video of a chap named Iolo chatting about Aberystwyth University!)
