Can I use Noé? It's the french version of Noah, but I'm not the hugest fan of the latter... Is Noé pronounceable in English? We do have french heritage, so wouldn't be entirely random but also don't want to saddle DS with something that'll be a pain in the !

Thanks!

So like No-Ay?
I think it sounds feminine

Well, it's nicer than Noah that's for sure. I think many British people will see it as a female name, sadly, even though the /é/ ending is male.

Like Zoe/noe? Sounds too feminine for a boy

No-eh?

I think people would struggle to guess how it’s pronounced, and wouldn’t be able to guess the gender from the name. I think it would be a mild pain, but not necessarily enough to put you off if you loved it!

I think the accent will be missed out a lot, e.g. on his passport, if he is born or raised in the UK. So his name will look like "no" instead of no-ay. Depends if it will bother you or him. The "no" confusion does give it a negative association/vibe.

Sounds girly. And he will have to keep spelling it out.
