Hello I am down to two girls names Grace and Alice. I like the traditional classic names and I know both are quite popular but I will be choosing one of these, just struggling to decide between them. Which one would you pick? Thanks x

I like Grace but I steer clear of virtue names just in case they end up anything but!

Alice is a beautiful name and timeless imho.

Chachachawoo · 16/08/2021 20:01

Alice
Both are lovely but Grace can be a diff name to live up to

drpet49 · 16/08/2021 20:05

Alice

Twinkie01 · 16/08/2021 20:24

Alice is as nice as Grace but less popular so I'd go for Alice.

AnyaMoondial · 16/08/2021 21:24

Grace

DramaAlpaca · 16/08/2021 21:26

Alice, it's just beautiful.

I've never liked the 'Gr...' sound in Grace.

KitBiscuit · 16/08/2021 21:28

Both names are perfectly nice and lovely but my gosh, it feels like they are on every single thread.

Grace but both lovely

Mscarna · 16/08/2021 21:33

Alice.

Alice Grace.

Grace

I have never liked the name Alice

BungleandGeorge · 16/08/2021 23:52

Much prefer Grace. It’s a tricky one though, it’s not a great choice for those less blessed with that attribute!

Buttercup54321 · 17/08/2021 00:05

Alice Grace.

Mammyofonlyone · 17/08/2021 22:22

I always think of the lovely but simple Alice from the Vicar of Dibley. Grace is popular but doesn't have any immediate negative connotations in my mind. In my most frank terms I'd go Grace. Again, this is only in my mind but I'd rather go for an over popular name than one that people associate with those that aren't too bright

fuzzymoomin · 17/08/2021 22:37

Both are beautiful classic names. If your surname is one syllable then choose Alice. If your surname is two or more syllables then choose Grace.

stripedbananas · 17/08/2021 22:43

I like them both equally

WeDidntMeanToGoToSea · 17/08/2021 22:49

Alice, by miles.

unim · 17/08/2021 22:49

You can't really go wrong with either of those.

I'd pick the one that sounds best with your surname.

35andThriving · 17/08/2021 22:53

Alice

Grace feels more religious to me because of Amazing Grace.

MsTSwift · 17/08/2021 22:56

I have known some dreadful Graces so that name is ruined. It’s also a risk if the child grows up and really isn’t well graceful it seems quite cruel. Like Willow there was a Willow at my school who was very large felt sorry for her with that name.

AnnaSW1 · 17/08/2021 23:03

Grace i Iove. To me, Alice just sounds so weak
