Which name for our baby girl?

Holidaydreams14 · 27/07/2021 14:55

We are expecting a baby girl in a weeks time, and we still can't decide between the following names and would really like help picking!

We are torn between

Florence Nancy (Floss as a NN) or
Isabella Nancy (Bella as a NN)
Tallulah Nancy (Lula as a NN)

We like all three in equal measure, but we really cannot decide. Nancy is a family name, so that will probably stay- although we did like Eva as a potential middle name.

Isabella is my favourite, but I like all of them!

Florence or Isabella.

TatianaBis · 27/07/2021 20:12

Much prefer Nancy to any of them. Stronger less cutesy and meh.

An N surname does not rule N out. Depends on the name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/07/2021 21:12

Love Tallulah
Really like Florence
Isabella is pretty just a bit meh

AvantGardening · 27/07/2021 21:23

I’d use Nancy - by far the best name on the list and I like the alliteration.

Grimacenotgrommet · 27/07/2021 21:26

Nancy as the first name even if there is alliteration with surname

If not then Floss is fabulous.
Isabella is so so overdone. Bella pretty though.

What does Tallulah shorten to as it is a bit of a mouthful otherwise so I’d avoid.

Themeparklover · 28/07/2021 01:37

Tallulah nancy

HonorHiding · 28/07/2021 03:23

Florence for me Smile

yellowsofa · 28/07/2021 04:39

I have a Talullah, sometimes called Lula. Obviously we love it.
My vote is for Talullah obviously. Smile

HoppingHamster · 28/07/2021 05:00

In my mind a Tallulah is a little bit posh and a little bit rebellious

I like Tallulah but as someone who is “a little bit posh” I see if completely the opposite. It’s not a name that anyone I know would choose, rather the opposite. Sorry op and @yellowsofa. I actually quite like it but it’s not posh!

Ginandplatonic · 28/07/2021 05:08

Florence out of those options, Isabella is far too common for my preference (perfectly nice name if you don’t care about though) and I dislike Tallulah.

I’m with others who say use Nancy as the first name. I love it. And I love an alliterative name too!

fallingagain · 28/07/2021 05:45

I have an Isabella and have literally never met another one, she is the only Isabella in her class.
She is 5.

I never said it was posh! And it never crossed my mind whether it is or not. We love the name, end of. Trying to put a spin on my reason for the name is pretty odd...are you trying to offend me? Hasn't worked, by the way.
HoppingHamster · 28/07/2021 05:54

No not at all @yellowsofa! I was replying to a pp comments and noted that your comment above said you have a Tallulah, it was meant as a no offence intended as you have one but I disagreed with the ppGrin

Kanaloa · 28/07/2021 06:14

I would go for Florence or Isabella, both nice. I’m not keen on Talulah.

TatianaBis · 28/07/2021 06:15

'Posh' people don't say 'dinner' @HoppingHamster

In fact, it's a name that could be used by any background.

MadeOfStarStuff · 28/07/2021 10:12

I actually love Tallulah

Isabella is also lovely but has been very popular for years

Florence is nice enough but not my taste

Nuggetnugget · 28/07/2021 10:16

I wouldn't like Lula as a nickname for obvious reasons but I love Isabella

Eva would be a gorgeous first name.

ILoveShula · 28/07/2021 10:45

Nancy as a first name.

Florence and Isabella are nice but overpopular.

Talullah is ok but Lula sounds like a puppy's name.

RickOShay · 28/07/2021 11:12

Tallulah

periwinkle86 · 28/07/2021 11:52

We will also be using Nancy as a middle name if our little one is a girl - it’s a family name for us too! For what it’s worth, the Nancy in our family also had an N surname and it worked really well, but I guess it would depend on what the surname was.

Isabel is also one of our top contenders for a girl’s name, so I vote Isabella Nancy - great taste OP!

MimiSunshine · 28/07/2021 13:42

Tallulah Nancy. Love this and I’d consider Tula as a nickname but Lula is cute too

honeybee1986 · 28/07/2021 13:48

Love Tallulah 😊

Theoldwoman · 28/07/2021 14:13

Isabella Eva

But prefer Isobel Eva.

sopositivelynegative · 29/07/2021 01:39

Florence Nancy (Floss as a NN)
