Do you think this can be used as a girls middle name or, is it too sugary sweet? It is to honour a family member with a variation of the name Angel.

As a middle name it would be fine I think.

Starryskiesinthesky · 07/07/2021 11:25

I like it!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 07/07/2021 11:26

Yes, it's really rather nice as a middle name imo.

AuntieStella · 07/07/2021 11:26

It's a boys name across Latin America and many other Spanish and Portuguese speaking regions

I see it as strong and masculine, not sweet, but fine as a middle name

KirstenBlest · 07/07/2021 12:02

Awful. Angela or Angelina are fine. You are naming a person not a doll and Angel is a boy's name.

Isitpossi · 07/07/2021 12:03

I really love it

Yellowmoons · 07/07/2021 12:05

Fine as a middle name.

StarryStarrySocks · 07/07/2021 12:07

It's awful, sorry.

timetochangeagainforever · 07/07/2021 12:08

It's my daughters middle - she's 22 now and loves it and uses it together with her first name, Brontë

lowesakabe3 · 07/07/2021 12:10

it is honouring an Ángel, which is a common mens name... but was hopping it would make for an ok unisex option with out the Á...as I have also heard of a few non-binary people that are called Angel.

I would pick a feminine version like Angela, Angelique, Angelie, Angelina as Angel is a male name.

Blueskyemily · 07/07/2021 12:15

I like it as a middle name but not as a first name. Angelina would be nice too.

user1493494961 · 07/07/2021 12:25

Anything goes as a middle name really.

MouldyPotato · 07/07/2021 12:30

Nice as a middle name as honouring someone else. Otherwise no.

DotDotDotDotDot · 07/07/2021 12:58

Nice as a middle name, a bit too “footballers wives” as a first name. Angelica and Angelina are lovely too.

VenusClapTrap · 07/07/2021 13:04

Lovely as a middle name

MadeOfStarStuff · 07/07/2021 13:10

It’s awful

Angela, Angelina, Angelica etc are better

MrsFin · 07/07/2021 13:23

Angels are male beings aren't they?

What about Angela?

Rathmobhaile · 07/07/2021 13:27

I think as a middle name it's fine - especially when it has a meaning for you.

Blondiney · 07/07/2021 13:29

Lovely but only if it suits the baby.

PattyPan · 07/07/2021 13:59

I really don’t like it, even as a middle name. I once met someone whose middle name was Tinkerbell and felt sorry for her, I don’t think middle names should be an excuse to use a name that’s otherwise unacceptable.

MrsFin · 07/07/2021 14:33

@Blondiney

Lovely but only if it suits the baby.
But she'll only be a baby for a very short while. It's more important to decide if it's fitting for an adult
CakesOfVersailles · 07/07/2021 14:36

I think it's fine as a middle name, though I prefer Angela for a girl.

Pemba · 07/07/2021 14:39

Wow some people are having an overreaction to Angel as a name. Yes it's a male name in Spanish (pronounced differently) but in English it's surely unisex? There is a British actress, Angel Coulby I think, she was in 'Merlin', there's also Dick Strawbridge's wife in 'Escape to the Chateau'?, (although she was originally an Angela I believe). In fact it would probably be thought of as a bit girly over here. I think it's quite pretty, although possibly a bit much as a first name, nice as a middle. As the OP proposes. Angela seems a little dowdy in comparison.

Cannot for the life of me see why Angela is apparently fine, but Angel somehow indicates that the OP thinks she is 'naming a doll'. What rubbish.

Pemba · 07/07/2021 14:40

And it does in no way compare to Tinkerbell really. Wink
