I like the name.

Happenchance · 05/07/2021 16:14

Cows because of the Friesian cattle breed and Frida Cowlo products, e.g. www.amara.com/products/frida-cowlo-rug-91cm

Holly60 · 05/07/2021 16:21

I think ‘that’s a lovely name’

AmIPeriOrAreYouJustAnnoying · 05/07/2021 16:22

Khalo.
Love it! 🌺🌷🌻🌼

Laquila · 05/07/2021 16:24

Kahlo, then Abba, then vaguely Norse/Scandinavian (reminds me of Freja) and European. All great associations!

BiBabbles · 05/07/2021 16:55

peace, art.

FindingMeno · 05/07/2021 16:57

Love it!
I think of vikings and strong warrior women.

TempsPerdu · 05/07/2021 17:10

Kahlo with this spelling. And then the character Frieda from the Chalet School books, which I loved as a child. General Germanic/Scandi vibes.

I actually really like it. Not one for the faint-hearted and it’ll never have universal approval but it’s strong and creative and has a lovely meaning. DD has a name in a similar, non traditionally ‘pretty’ vein and we’re really glad we went with it.

VenusClapTrap · 05/07/2021 18:39

Nice name

PaySeeWhiTa · 05/07/2021 18:43

I love it, with an 'e' in it though. Was in our top choices for DD but we went with something else. Would have had Freddie as a nickname

CanofCant · 05/07/2021 21:46

Hilda's pal! And Kahlo of course. I love it, was on my list but DC3 is a boy.

Ritascornershop · 05/07/2021 21:51

I think of Freida Pinto.

The Moon and Little Frieda

joystir59 · 05/07/2021 21:52

Full Moon and Little Frieda
A cool small evening shrunk to a dog bark and the clank of a bucket -
And you listening.
A spider's web, tense for the dew's touch.
A pail lifted, still and brimming - mirror
To tempt a first star to a tremor.

Cows are going home in the lane there, looping the hedges with their warm
wreaths of breath -
A dark river of blood, many boulders,
Balancing unspilled milk.
'Moon!' you cry suddenly, 'Moon! Moon!'

The moon has stepped back like an artist gazing amazed at a work
That points at him amazed.

Wide · 05/07/2021 21:53

Dont know khalo but I thought of the shampoo John Frieda however its spelt

joystir59 · 05/07/2021 21:53

Ted Hughes

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/07/2021 21:59

I think it was spelled Freda, not Frida, but I immediately thought of the Blue Peter tortoise (I’ll see myself out ..)

BackforGood · 05/07/2021 22:00

Abba

(have had to Google Frida Khalo)

I would just assume the person had Scandanavian heritage and might ask them about it if chatting.

Thewishingchair123 · 05/07/2021 22:03

I think of Abba, Sweden, kind of care-free connotations. It’s in my same name box as Astrid or Anja. I like it Smile

RosesAndHellebores · 05/07/2021 22:04

A really articulate lady I once knew who would be over a 100 now but she was awesome. Her name was Frieda though. I think her mother was German.

Palavah · 05/07/2021 22:05

Kahlo or ABBA, neither negatively.

ragged · 05/07/2021 22:05

The Archer's character!! Burt's wife. Supposed to be bossy, great cook.

Plump82 · 05/07/2021 22:07

My cat as she's called that but spelt Freda. If i was lucky enough to have had a daughter by now Freda was a contender but the cat came 1st.
I think its a gorgeous name.

BillyIsMyBunny · 05/07/2021 22:31

Immediately thought Abba. I then thought ‘Frida Castro’ but think I was mixing up Fidel Castro and Frida Kahlo.

Seanchailleach · 05/07/2021 22:36

I think "Frida Swida". I recently learned that St Frideswide, founder of Christchurch Cathedral Oxford, was a woman and that her name is pronounced "Fritha Switha" which means something like "Peaceful strength". I love that a name that sounds like Sweetie means strength.
