Oren is fine in Wales

Oren means orange in Welsh.

It just sounds like it’s missing something to me. Probably my brain is trying to auto-fill orange. I say this despite knowing an Oren.

I had Oren on my list but DH didn't like it.

I would be unsure how to pronounce Oran if I came across it. I'd probably pronounce it or-an (rhymes with for-an) as a first guess but I wouldn't be sure whether it was supposed to be more like o (like in hot) - ran or even oh-ran.

I had Oren (Hebrew for pine tree) on my list. Had no idea is meant orange in Welsh

How are you pronouncing it? I’m Irish and I’d say it (and Odhran) Orrrran with the “or” to rhyme with bore. I have a Scottish friend called Oran where it sounds like the start of orange. I much prefer the Irish pronunciation.

It's a very famously beautiful Algerian city! I like it (as pp mentioned Camus also set The Plague there but don't let that put you off).
