I am expecting my little miracle baby in December and have dived deep into baby names... for a girl I'm adamant I love Bonnie do you think it would be weird to put my first name as her middle name? I know sometimes the fathers do it but I haven't heard of the mothers first name as the babies middle name
It would make her name,...

Bonnie Hope 💕

Don't even know the gender yet but excitement is taking over first pregnancy and all😁💕

I don't see why you couldn't use your first name as a daughter's middle name. It's a nice idea and Hope is a lovely name.

I'm not keen on Bonnie, sorry. It's very cutesy, more of a nickname really.

Ratatattatpat · 20/05/2021 23:27

Love Bonnie Hope!

GreyhoundG1rl · 20/05/2021 23:27

😬. Bonnie is awful, sorry.

Dimsummummy · 20/05/2021 23:29

My mums name was Bonita a.k.a Bonnie. I like Bonnie Hope x

IslandLulu · 20/05/2021 23:29

It's nice if short for Bonita.

tillux · 20/05/2021 23:29

Name your child what you want lovely, some people will love it, like it, think it's cute, others will hate it, but ultimately it's up to you.

In my opinion that sounds perfect together, and I don't think it's odd. ❤️

Naz2009 · 20/05/2021 23:57

@HMartin congratulations on your precious baby.
My mum gave me her first name as my middle name and I love it. It's true it's always the fathers name you tend to get as a middle name. But to have your mums makes it so much more special.
My mum passed away when I was 12. So having her name live with me makes me very happy.

ButterfliesandMoths · 21/05/2021 00:02

Bonnie Hope is beautiful ❤️

OppsUpsSide · 21/05/2021 00:04

Gorgeous name. Also, DD has my name as her middle name, I didn’t think it was unusual!

JemimaJoy · 21/05/2021 01:35

Love it!!

NakedBanana · 21/05/2021 02:23

Love it!!!

FelicityBeedle · 21/05/2021 02:49

I love Bonnie! And Bonnie hope is a very sweet name!

MercyBodle · 21/05/2021 03:37

Beautiful name! and very meaningful. It's a lovely connection to use your name for the middle - don't hesitate. Congratulations!

Allthingspeaches · 21/05/2021 03:42

My mum's name is one of my middle names and I love that she did.

Bonnie Hope is lovely

FrozenVag · 21/05/2021 04:36

What if she is not bonny?

Same reason I didn’t use Grace - quite wisely as it turned out😂

Peachbubble · 21/05/2021 06:12

I like it.

AnyaMoondial · 21/05/2021 06:25

Bonnie Hope is a pretty brilliant name I must say.

Scarby9 · 21/05/2021 06:38

I have my mother's first name as my middle name.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 21/05/2021 07:12

Congratulations! It's a lovely name Smile

lottiegarbanzo · 21/05/2021 08:07

It's a lovely sentiment but a nickname that to many people's ears sounds like a dog's name.

I'd think it was a nn for something, maybe Ebony.

You could use it as a nn, whatever her actual name. 'My bonnie baby / wee bonnie lass' etc.

The middle name idea is fine, it's not a common thing to do but I know people who have done that.

NinaMimi · 21/05/2021 08:56

I think people spend too much time fretting over middle names. Most people won’t know it. I have no issue with mum’s name as middle name.

I’m Scottish so Bonnie always seems a weird name to me - even though lots of baby name sites say it’s a Scottish name.

DuggeeHugPlease · 21/05/2021 09:04

It's a nice name, I know one Bonnie in her 30s and one who is 4 and it suits them both.

Viviennemary · 21/05/2021 09:07

Not keen on Bonnie. Its a nickname I'd say. Not a proper name.

Quercus3 · 21/05/2021 09:19

How funny, we have a Bonnie Hope, born 6 weeks ago 😊! Congratulations on your miracle baby 💛 we've had lots of compliments on her name (although people don't tend to share negative opinions so freely in real life as they do online!)

SoapboxFox · 21/05/2021 09:22

It reminds me of squeaky-voiced Bonnie Langford so am not particularly keen. She isn't much heard of these days though.
