Little brother for Mabel and Stanley

Due in 9 weeks, we have a few names we like but none that we love!

I actually have 7 children but putting all their names would be outing and the youngest two are Mabel and Stanley (called Stan day to day).

I like old fashioned names, we like Sidney, DH loves Buster but it’s too doggy for my liking. I also like Bruno! But I imagine a Bruno to be dark haired and my babies are all blonde and blue eyed.

With all the others I was set in a name right from the beginning so this is a strange feeling! Please give me some ideas and help me find the one!

Victor is another option.

I do like Sidney but not Bruno; Bruno isa dogs name to me

Ariela · 20/05/2021 20:58

Arthur was my first thought too

Forgetmenot82 · 20/05/2021 21:11

Mabel, Stanley and Arthur

Forgetmenot82 · 20/05/2021 21:11

Or Mabel, Stanley and Albert

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 20/05/2021 21:27

Not keen on Buster or Bruno. Maybe Ivo, Magnus or Rufus? - similar quirky vibes to me, but a nicer sound imo. Or since Stanley and Mabel are quite retro/vintage, perhaps Eric, Hugh, Arthur, Bertram, Alfred, Richard, Wilfred, Albert, Raymond, Leonard, Edmund?

WildCherryBlossom · 21/05/2021 05:21

Arthur (if you haven't already got one).

Or:
Walter
Barnaby
Milo
Cyril
Cecil
Gilbert

I think Sidney is a bit too close to Stanley. Bruno is gorgeous and a blond boy could probably pull it off.but it does sound more like a brown eyed boy's name.

I love, love, love Mabel btw!

I like Sidney, but not with Stanley. I like Art ( Arthur full name).
Love Octavius. I know a Tavius. He isn't Octavius but still nice.
I love Alfred, Alf, but not Alfie which he would probably get.
Leonard ? Lennie seems quite popular.

I like Peter and John. They're dated, but classic, and I think they're lovely without trying too hard.

Arthur

Foxglovesandlilacs · 21/05/2021 08:35

Wow thankyou. Some lovely names!

I like Arthur but know a lot that have been born the last couple of years. I agree it’s the first thing that comes to mind though.

We have Alfie’s, Archie’s and George’s in the family already. Also know an Albert quite well. It’s hard isn’t it?!

I like Otto and I’m sure I read somewhere it means eighth child or something. DH isn’t keen but said I could use it if I want. I’m tempted but I want him to like the name too, and I’ve seen it floating around on Instagram recently which makes me think it might be a bit trendy (like Arlo?)

Love monty. And hector. DH likes these too but are they just too doggy?

Ooooh I love Mabel and Stanley OP! DH vetoed both :(

So on the basis that you are of my mind, some other names I like:
George
Frederick
Wilfred
Albert
Arthur
Edwin
Fergus
Henry
Alfred

Some of those are a bit ordinary now (or even in the top 10) tho when my DC were small they were a bit more unusual.

Reads thread: ahhhh both my DS's names are on this thread multiple times :)
