But OP, you don’t know anyone on here, who gives a shit if some random strangers hate Juniper?!
Out in the real world, not ONE person is ever going to say “oh my god, that’s an awful name, why did you call her that?!” - they’re going to tell you it’s lovely, because it is.

Go with Juniper and use nn Juno which is awesome!

You’ll never find a name that everyone likes because no name like that exists. One person hates traditional names, another hates surname names, one hates flower names, cutesy names, old man names, old lady names, seriously the list goes on and on. But the only thing that it comes down to is personal preference and taste.

I wanted to call my daughter Dylan. Ended up having a boy so couldn’t use it, but I would have and wouldn’t have given a crap if nobody else liked it. My baby, my choice.

You have the same luxury, this is your baby and Juniper is a fantastic name (and I’d much rather hear Juniper than another Olivia!)

I thought you had a good reaction to Juniper! I've certainly seen worse. It's a nice name. If YOU like it, use it.

As for H names Harriet is a great name and it doesn't matter if a cousin has a Harry, they are different names.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 17:14

@RestUp no most people said they were all joke names 😂 and I was told by one person tk change my name to it if I liked it and not inflict it on another haha!

I do love it still! Especially as she will be born in June! X

@Checkingout811 love Hettie, but where we live people rarely pronounce their Ts 😂

Checkingout811 · 12/05/2021 17:26

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh 😂 maybe not then.
We have a different problem. My nephew Harry is known by his paternal grandparents as Arry. So poor Hettie would be Ettie here

@AnxiousAnnie86 I don't get it what's wrong with Juniper??? I think it's a lovely name 💖

The people on here always mostly like the same boring names - clearly don't like change

A lot of people on here aren't a fan of the name we've picked but I wouldn't change it I'm pretty stubborn anyway 😂

It's difficult enough picking a name if you love it use it

SE13Mummy · 12/05/2021 17:30

If you were to have a Harriet, would you call her Harriet or expect to refer to her as Hattie, Harry etc.? I think it's a great name and if you love it, you should use it. Cousin Harry and your baby might enjoy having similar names but also, they may not grow up to be very close so then you'd have avoided using a name you love for no reason. I know married couples whose names are George and Georgina as well as Alison and Alistair; it's a non-issue. Use Harriet if you love it. Harriet Juniper works well too!

ChildOfFriday · 12/05/2021 17:45

I'm surprised to hear Juniper had a negative reaction- it's not to my taste but I'm normally in a significant minority on MN as on most threads I've seen it is almost universally loved, and always brought up on threads about your favourite name/what would you name a baby girl if you had one right now. If that's the name you want then I would go for it OP. If you do a search for other MN Baby Name threads on Juniper you'll probably find ones with far more positive opinions Smile

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 17:57

@ChildOfFriday I think I was put off by such negativity just because my husband wasn't overly sold, but came round then when people were reallt against it it put me off a bit, but hearing all these lovely comments has restored my faith! X
