Which do you prefer please?

I'm due in a week and am really stuck. I thought I'd decided on Harriet but I love Issie and have always liked Matilida too.

Thanks in advance

Prefer Harriet

I think every family I know with a daughter born in the last 7/8 years has called one of them Isabelle / Bella / one of the derivatives. I actually can't think of one that hasn't.

Also Matilda very popular where I live - we all grew up loving the book and as we've had kids it's become a very popular choice. Most of them know as Tilly / Tillie.

Harriet is the less popular of the three but I know 3/4 born in the last 18 months or so. It's become the replacement Grace.

But as I say none of this matters if you like the names. Just didn't want you picking then being amazed when you go to baby class and there are two of each!

Isabelle

Matilda, shortens to Tilly, Tilda, Mattie. I also love the meaning 'mighty in battle'.
Otherwise Harriet

Harriet is lovely and less overused atm.

All nice names, but with so many Isabelles and Matildas around at the moment, the names feel a little boring. And I say that as someone who is generally a big fan of boring names Grin

Harriet. But i love Tilda rather than Matilda even more.

Harriet or Matilda

DD, age 10, is Harriet and we love it - as others have said its not as popular as others like Grace, Matilda Isla or Sophie. We chose it as its a bit different but not too obscure.

For the first few years of her life we didnt come across another Harriet but when DD started her school out of the 40-50 girls in her yeargroup there are two Harriets, although the other one calls herself Hattie so its possible to differentiate them (in contrast there are several Sophies, Graces and Matildas and one Isabella)

We tend to call her Harry or if teasing DS calls her Harold (after learning about King Harold I think on Horrible Histories) rather than Hattie

Harriet is lovely name.

I have a nephew called Harry (very close in age to DD who would have been a Harriet) so we didn't use it.

I like them all but if I had to rank them it would be
Harriet
Matilda
Isabel (spelt like that)
