Harry

Sebastian, I think its a lovely name for a boy or a man and a couple of nice nickname options too

Violetlavenders · 21/04/2021 17:49

The trouble with Sebastian is the lack of nice nicknames- Seb, Sebbie, Basty...?

Shame as the full name sounds nice.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/04/2021 17:59

Sebastian is great.

HighlandCowbag · 21/04/2021 18:52

I've got a Sebastian, goes by Seb or Sebby. It's a fab name (obvs I'm bias). We are definitely not posh, working class northern folk who live in a working class town with working class friends and family. Never had any negative comments about his name and we've only ever met one other in 7 years.

ILoveShula · 21/04/2021 19:24

Harry. Don't like Sebastian

SnottyLottie · 21/04/2021 19:25

Definitely Sebastian.

Harry is okay (I prefer Henry) but it’s very over used and it reminds me of the word ‘hairy’ (especially when pronounced by an American). I have a lot of Harrys of all different ages in my social circle.

Sebastian sounds very handsome, it’s got lots of history to it and is quite underused in comparison to Harry. I have only met one Sebastian!

DramaAlpaca · 21/04/2021 19:25

Harry. I don't like Sebastian.

Sebastian

Frazzled2207 · 21/04/2021 19:43

Sebastian!
Harry is ok but there are millions of them.
Far less Sebastians but enough that you won’t get raised eyebrows.
Ones I know seem to be called Sebby by their mums which i’m not that keen on tbh. Seb is fine.

Sonata13 · 21/04/2021 20:48

Sebastian all the way!
It's my son's name and he loves his name.

mangodreams · 21/04/2021 21:23

Sebastian - great name - love Seb as nn.

There are sooooo many Harrys around. I prefer Henry.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 21/04/2021 21:42

I watched a show with a Sebastian and they called him Bash, cute for a kid

pilates · 21/04/2021 21:45

Harry
Strongly dislike Sebastian

LittleRen · 21/04/2021 21:49

I have a Sebastian so am biased but I do know a lot of Harry’s, it’s very trendy. Love both though.

My Sebastian is called Seb most of the time, or Sebbie... I love love love Seb and rarely use his full name, but it’s nice to have the option and Seb and Sebastian sound very different. I do think Sebastian is quite formal and we do get posh comments, bur Seb is just lovely.

Violetlavenders · 22/04/2021 11:23

Seb sounds so soft and unfinished.

Harry sounds stronger.

Personally I'd not choose either name as Harry is very popular and I don't like Seb or Basty.

TatianaBis · 22/04/2021 13:56

Seb is a nn that’s why. Nothing unfinished about Sebastian.

I like Bass a nn.

partyatthepalace · 22/04/2021 17:37

Sebastian

Both nice, but just too many Harrys -

MercyBodle · 24/04/2021 03:38

Harry

Violetlavenders · 24/04/2021 12:58

Seb is a nn that’s why.

But many other nicknames sound stronger and more complete than Seb.

Eg Harry, Tom, Finn etc

Apileofballyhoo · 24/04/2021 13:06

Sebastian.
