...when looking for the right name for your LO and have your favourite names changed over time – if they have what do you think has effected that change? Thanks.

Something which isn't hugely popular, but recognisable as a name, like Juliet or Patrick.
A name which reflects both our family backgrounds, in terms of culture and religion
If we can't agree on the above, a first name which is neither, so both families are equally unhappy Grin and a middle name which ticks both boxes or two middle names if needed, so they aren't rejected for baptism
Something we don't believe will embarrass the child
Something we think will work for them at all life stages, especially as an adult
For girls, I prefer names which aren't feminine versions of masculine names
Something which doesn't form unfortunate initials

Criteria are

  1. at least 3 syllables as have v short surname
  2. like all nicknames
  3. is not a pun with surname
  4. not in top 20
  5. people generally know how to spell it when you say it

Oh and the middle name cannot be a filler name like Rose, Grace, May

All 3 of mine have easy to spell classic names that can be shortened to a nice nickname and you can't tell their sex by the nickname (wasn't deliberate). As we live in the SE I didn't want any names which would sound awful if the speaker had an estuary accent so no Th sounds which would be pronounced as an F.
