Hi. My friend is after a name as described above.
For various reasons she can't use
Imogen
Tiffany
Stephanie
Any Rose names like Rosalind
Harriet
Isobel.
Her other 2 dds have names starting with A and C. Any ideas please?

Why do people always say Katherine. It's two syllables, surely!

Anyway.

Maybe that’s how you say Catherine but it’s certainly not how I say it.

Kathryn is two syllables

Catherine is 3 - Cath-er-in emphasis on the first syllable and this is phonetically the correct pronunciation of the name.

Listen to how Prince William pronounces his wife’s name.

And if we are being critical, why have you included names ending in a when OP specifically said she doesn’t want suggestions ending in a? It’s the title of the thread.

cath-er-in for me :)

however, a lot of people do "shorten" it and the 'er' is somewhat lost as a syllable.
