What do you think of this name, I think it's fresh but not too out there. Not sure how others would view it though.

No to Fritha

How about Fiona?

Easterbunnygettingready · 15/03/2021 21:36

Conception in a Costa op??

PlanetPuddle · 15/03/2021 21:42

I'm really struggling to say it but that might just be me.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/03/2021 21:42

Its coming out in my head as Thifa. Firtha

PlanetPuddle · 15/03/2021 21:45

I can either say Thrifa or Fritter but I'm really struggling to say it correctly.
piglet81 · 15/03/2021 21:46

I used to work with a Fritha (who was very cool and from somewhere Scandinavian), so it has a good association for me. It’s very distinctive.

calimommy · 15/03/2021 22:30

In a scandi accent it probably sounds much nicer. I keep thinking Filth when I read it - sorry haha but that said I'm sure that's just because I've not come across it before!

LarryUnderwood · 15/03/2021 22:32

Yep will definitely become Friffa in some parts of the UK.

partyatthepalace · 15/03/2021 22:37

Froths is lovely - Frofro for short Grin

I think Fritha looks good written down, but hard to say and very lispy - I’d go for Frida/Freda - otherwise - Thora, Liv??

partyatthepalace · 15/03/2021 22:38

.... Finola and Ffion are nice too. Ffion means foxglove which is cute.

Number3BigCupOfTea · 15/03/2021 22:40

That's awful. I really love Frida though.

LastRoloIsMine · 15/03/2021 22:46

Sorry OP it sounds like a noise you make when you are trying not to spit out your drink when someone makes you laugh.

Freya is the goddess of love and fertility in Norse mythology if you like F names with nice meanings.

Synchrony · 15/03/2021 22:47

If I met someone with this name I wouldn't think anything bad about it. It's not a name I've heard before but it does sound Scandi to me.

Having said that, my first thought was that it reminded me of Watership Down. But hey, I love that book.

SavannahLands · 15/03/2021 22:54

Sorry but l can imagine some people struggling with pronouncing it correctly, children can be cruel, and may call them Frit-ha, as in Potato, Banana, or Pineapple varieties!

Nell96 · 15/03/2021 23:10

Watership down is also the first thing I thought of. Not a bad association, bit I'm still not keen on the name - sounds quite awkward - Freya or Frida have a much nicer flow.

RootyT00t · 16/03/2021 07:53

I always hear this, that kids will torture their names, but in reality it's not common practice.

I see worse from adults.

LadyCatStark · 16/03/2021 08:22

I used to know someone called Fritha but I can’t say it! It comes our as Thrifa.

gettingusedtothelimelight · 16/03/2021 08:35

You'd better hope she doesn't have a lisp 😬

SJaneS49 · 16/03/2021 09:42

It’ll be difficult for people to pronounce. I agree it’s very spitty. Sorry OP, I don’t like it.

kobo · 16/03/2021 12:32

Well that was helpful I suppose. There seems to be a consensus that pronunciation would be difficult, so I'll probably not chose it, even though I still think it's lovely. I do actually like the suggestion of Fiona, I hadn't considered that at all.

I dont like it and my eyes sees fitta Swedish slang for pussy

JackieWeaverFever · 16/03/2021 12:57

Hard no from me.

I know one.
She's awful and has daddy issues.

People also call her: fripper frifa and fritter.

emmathedilemma · 16/03/2021 13:13

I don't like, i find it really hard to say with the fr and th sounds (and the only one i've known was a pain in the arse)

Easterbunnygettingready · 16/03/2021 13:58

How about Frittata?
Grin

TooManyAnimals94 · 16/03/2021 14:03

My mare is due to foal in May. If it's a girl we're going to call her Fritha! Love it for a human baby too!
