Girl's names - help!

I've posted before, but we've just found out that we're having a little girl. We already have one daughter, called Nia. I'd love some opinions on our list, and maybe some other suggestions. In order, we like:

Sabrina
Erin
Fern
Serena
Iona
Hazel
Faye

Looking for something not massively popular, not too frilly or cutesy. I like names with an interesting meaning or historical link, or ones which are associated with nature. Thanks.

Nia is gorgeous.

Sabrina - love this, it's the latin version of the Welsh Hefren, so a nice link with Nia
Erin - nice, also Welsh (one of the Welsh names for Ireland) so goes well with Nia but not as pretty as Nia.
Fern - it's ok
Serena - nice. You may also like Seren which is the Welsh word for star used as a modern Welsh name
Iona - also Welsh (Yonna) and goes nicely with Nia. Also Scottish (Eye own a).
Hazel - it's ok
Faye - it's nice and goes well with Nia

Something like Eira, Ffion, Elin, Mari, Alys, Teleri, Mabli or Tesni would go well with Nia if you wanted another Welsh name.

Hazel or Fern for me.

Iona is lovely too but Nia and Iona together are too vowel-heavy and a bit of a mouthful.

Thank you for your comments everyone. Lots to think about. At the moment I'm leaning towards Sabrina or Fern, but I've also come across the name Cara, which I think is lovely.

Cara means friend in Irish. Clara is nice too. From your list I like Nia the best. Simple but pretty.

DarcyJack · 04/03/2021 17:04

Fern hazel or Iona. Also like Sabina but not Sabrina

Janedamaz · 04/03/2021 17:07

Absolutely love Erin, Hazel and Faye. Our little girl would have been Faye if it went well with our surname.

KirstenBlest · 04/03/2021 20:13

Ffion?

@DarcyJack

Fern hazel or Iona. Also like Sabina but not Sabrina
I'm a Sabina and I’ve been called Sabrina by pretty much everyone my entire life Grin

Hazel is lovely

@NeedSomeInfoAgain

With Nia I'd go for Iona, Erin, Fern or Faye. All the names on your list are lovely, but if I was Nia and my sister was Sabrina/Serena, there might be a point in my early teens (before growing out of it Grin) when I'd feel somewhat short-changed.
@NeedSomeInfoAgain I keep coming back to your comment- would you mind elaborating? Do you think you'd feel short changed because Sabrina is a longer name? Or perhaps you just prefer it?

@CaffiSaliMali Yes, that's exactly why I love the name Sabrina - I also grew up very close to the Severn bridges... Erin is beautiful too, but I'm already used it for dd's middle name (bad move!) I love Eira and Mabli, but DH says no 😔 Seren is quite pretty, but the name of a friend's dd.

I'd personally avoid another name ending in A. Erin was hugely popular circa 15 years ago. I quite like Fern but would spell it Fearne, Hazel is also nice. Faye is ok.
