For a boy? We are British and live in the UK. Our surname is boring so that's not an issue.

Any opinions or alternatives?

Obvious alternatives to me would be Rory or possibly classic Henry. You could also consider Shakespearean Corin or French Corentin with the nn Cory/Corey?

Corey itself sounds quite American to me (possibly because as an 80's kid, I think of the 2 Corey's - the Actors). You may also get the Cory/Corey spelling issue.

It used to be one of my favourite names but I have really gone off it to be honest! I prefer the Cory spelling. It does sound quite American to me

It's slang for penis.

I think it’s a really nice name. Like a pp I do think of Feldman & Haim which is something to maybe think about. I think it’s a nice sounding name though. If you wanted alternatives maybe Cody, Cole, Rory, but I would stick with Corey.

I find it very, very American (not a bad thing, just my impression of it).

aloeha · 03/03/2021 21:17

I used to like it but my grandad always used it as slang for penis and I can’t get that out of my head

It’s Ok, but it’s not very distinguished.
