Pretty girls names that don't end in an e or a sound...

I'm stuck. Our DD's name ends in a vowel sound and though I love her name, everywhere I go all I hear is more names that end in the same. So this time round I'm wanting to find a name that ends in a consonant sound but is equally pretty. Any ideas?

How do you pronounce Isolde/Iseult?

I've never met a Maeve but I don't think people would be shocked by it - it's a bit old fashioned but those sorts of names are coming back into fashion (Iris etc)

I don't mind Mauve, it's grandma chic. My DD has a Grandma name and when I tell people it they say ohhh right. No one says it's nice, and often they say my Nan's called that or even their Great Nan 😬 I love her name, so as long as you don't care about opinions then shortlist it.

Edith is quite popular too but often shortened to the ie, Edie.

Opps I think I maybe hit on an issue with Maeve, misspelling

Iseult and Maeve are Irish names and I don't think either would be considered old fashioned here. Do you think its an abbreviation of Mavis? Its not its a standalone name based on Queen Maeve, a legend in Irish folklore, also spelled Meabh/Medb.

I know Iseult also exists outside Ireland but I would pronounce it to rhyme with sea salt, essentially, without the first 'S' - I have no idea how it would rhyme with hurt.

@heydoggie I know Maeve is from Meabh, I just associate it with Maeve Binchy who was born in 1939 (aka grandma age) and whose books my grandma used to read. So strong grandma association for me! But I still think it's nice, which Mavis isn't.
Iseult is a French spelling - I actually studied various medieval versions of the legend for my degree. So I wouldn't name my daughter it because I think the character was a bit of an idiot

My pronunciation was also French because of that spelling, I meant to say. Think the first vowel in Peugeot. Isolde is probably more user-friendly.

Or traditional Old Testament names like Ruth, Abigail.

Ariane I absolutely love... but I know one and it's too unusual a name not to be naming after her, though she's not close enough to name our baby after, if you see what I mean!

I've always pronounced Iseult as Iz-ult. The Welsh version is Esyllt and the Cornish version Eseld.

I pronounce Isolde as Iz-old but with the ol like the ol in Oliver rather than the ol in old.

Mabel, Florence and Alive are my favourites.
