We've whittled down to:
Ivy
Astrid
Imogen
Freya
Eva

I can't decide which one!

Ivy or Imogen - Imogen is my favourite, birth beautiful

Eva is lovely but quite over done

Astrid, I like it, but it's too hippy for me

I'm sorry but I have always disliked Freya

BobbitWormNightmares · 01/03/2021 16:19

*both beautiful

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/03/2021 18:47

Not Ivy imo - it's either "old lady" or very trendy and Freya is lovely but too popular for me.

All of your other choices are great so it's hard to pick - I think my fave is Imogen (well used but not too popular and it has a Shakespearean classiness to it), but international classic Eva and quirky cool Astrid are lovely too .

BallsToYouSue · 01/03/2021 19:10

Ivy - I don't like this one. It is of the moment and I think will date
Astrid - ok, but there is the whole Assturd thing from The Office US... someone will think of it when they hear the name, but definitely not everyone. Aside from that, I find it too similar to not great words, like turgid and castor (oil)
Imogen - nice, but was popular not that long ago
Freya - nice, but popular
Eva - no, too well used. Eve on its own seems to be less so

I'm not that sold on this list tbh (sorry). I just don't think these sorts of names are to my taste. They all seem to be names which have been or are still popular but only recently... so they don't have that classic vibe like something like Emma or Elizabeth, Catherine etc has and nor are they unusual or fresh.

That said, none of them are offensively bad or anything.

I think I'd go with Imogen or Freya from the list.

KirstenBlest · 01/03/2021 19:19

Eve is so much nicer than Eva, but I'm a bit bored of the vowel-heavy names and the names with l and v being the only consonants.

Ingrid might be an alternative to Astrid, same vibe but no Assturd potential

udnertheradar · 01/03/2021 19:20

Ivy!

pilates · 01/03/2021 19:21

Imogen is the only one I like.

Skyla2005 · 01/03/2021 19:25

Freya is beautiful

Cressie2 · 01/03/2021 19:39

Freya is gorgeous, or Eva. Both very pretty,

Nell96 · 02/03/2021 07:40

Ivy - pretty, though prefer Iris
Astrid - too hard sounding for me and dislike the 'ass' beginning
Imogen - beautiful, I'd pick this one
Freya - pretty, but perhaps a little wishy washy sounding?
Eva - prefer Eve, nice - but there are so many girls called Eva, Evie, Ava etc. around at the moment, which would bother me.

BramStoker · 02/03/2021 07:43

Freya or Imogen would get my vote

pinkpinecone · 02/03/2021 10:06

Ivy, Eva or Freya

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/03/2021 12:56

Me too

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/03/2021 12:57

Ooos, meant to quote @crazyneighbour

leggingsandwellies · 02/03/2021 17:39

All gorgeous!

Astrid is fab- I loved it but wasn't brave enough to use it!

Freya is my second favourite- the current popularity wouldn't put me off.

The only one I'd be a bit hesitant about is Ivy- I think a lot of people just like it at the moment as have been easily influenced by the old lady name trend and I think it's likely to date very badly.

ftmum94 · 02/03/2021 20:14

Ivy and Freya are lovely!
Not keen on Astrid, sounds like a Trunchbull-esque type gal!
Eva is nice but quite common and Imogen is sweet.

DragonPoop · 02/03/2021 20:18

Imogen or Freya!

Janedamaz · 04/03/2021 17:14

I like them all but to give a bit of a different perspective, Astrid is my favourite on the basis that it is used quite a lot in France! It’s just a lovely name for a little girl, not overused, charming but not too delicate.

Little Astrid can be whoever she wants :)

babynamelover · 04/03/2021 18:15

I wanted Astrid for my eldest.

cptartapp · 04/03/2021 18:29

Ivy - dislike. Harsh sounding name.
Astrid - dreadful. Sounds like a cleaning product.
Imogen - lovely name, but not immy. Would pick this.
Freya - nice enough if a bit wet. Second choice.
Eva - God no. Done to death. Instantly forgettable.

mamablondie33 · 05/03/2021 22:11

Imogen is the best of your choices. I like Freya too.

pinkandblueflowers · 05/03/2021 22:20

Imogen

Knitterbabe · 06/03/2021 08:13

Imogen definitely; beautiful name

Astrid must be racing up the popularity charts; I know of three born just lately.
I don’t like it at all. I visualise an old lady in a buttoned up cardigan and a felt hat with hatpins.
And the abbreviation ‘Ass..’ would be horrible.
Ivy is ugly too

isadorapolly · 06/03/2021 08:15

I like ivy the most out of all of them.

Imogen and Freya are so boring (IMO) especially Imogen. I’ve never met an interesting one.

Eva is ok but so boring.

Astrid is interesting but not a very pretty sounding name, it’s quite blunt sounding to me. I’m aware not everyone wants a pretty name for a girl btw Smile

ladygindiva · 06/03/2021 08:16

All lovely names. One is a dd of mine, another is my nieces name, and two are good friends kids! The only one I don't have in my circle is an Astrid.
