What do you think of Aurora and Sage as sisters?

Not keen, sorry OP.

VintageDiamonds · 28/02/2021 14:43

Yes love both.

archofabridge · 28/02/2021 14:43

Sage is a sweet name.
I can't put my finger on why I don't think Aurora and Sage work... maybe because Aurora feels more Princessy and Sage less so.

Tessa and Sage? Good luckSmile

partyatthepalace · 28/02/2021 15:37

Fine I think

jackieweaverforpm · 28/02/2021 15:40

Can't believe someone suggested Maeve. Sage and Maeve? Honestly?

Loopyloututu2 · 28/02/2021 15:41

I would go for another one or two syllable name with an earthy feel like Sage:

Rowan
Bronte
Brooke
Skye
Skylar
Willow
etc.

I’m not keen on Aurora sorry.

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/02/2021 15:46

I love Sage but I'm not a fan of Aurora.

How about Willow, Fern, or Meadow.

RosesAndHellebores · 28/02/2021 15:50

Myrtle
Daphne
Hebe
Tansy

Whatsyourflava · 28/02/2021 15:51

Love Aurora

Also love Audrey and Aurelia

MuddleMoo · 28/02/2021 16:53

Sage and Aurora sounds nice. But it does sound odd the other way around, not sure why.

I'd not go for another plant personally.

Arrierttyclock · 28/02/2021 17:29

I think they're lovely together

ParisJeTAime · 28/02/2021 17:49

I think they're fine together.

I prefer Fern, as suggested by pp. Hazel?

finallychangedmyusername · 28/02/2021 17:50

Sage and Aurora sound pretty different to me. Agree that it's the princess vibes that Aurora gives me. Whereas Sage feels more grounded, less glittery, more straightforward.

Sage and Fern as previously suggested works beautifully.
Or
Sage and...
Eden
Willow
Ivy
Lark
Ruby

JustanotherTuesday · 28/02/2021 18:04

I really like Sage, what about Sorrel ?
They go nicely together, if you don't mind using the same initial.

partyatthepalace · 28/02/2021 18:07

@jackieweaverforpm

Grin

I think Aurora and Sage are fine OP, but what I wouldn't do is go for two plant names - eg Sage and Fern - fine individually but you aren't running a garden centre.

AngelDelightUk · 28/02/2021 18:18

For some reason Willow springs to mind, Sage and Willow just sound lovely

ParisJeTAime · 28/02/2021 18:24

Sorrel is lovely. It also, maybe Saffron?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/03/2021 00:58

You could go for another uncommon herb name - Cassia is a type of cinnamon and Cassia and Sage sound really nice together. Or if you want something similar sounding to Sage, Rue is another herb name (made famous in this generation by the Hunger Games).

But Aurora sounds fine with Sage - just be aware that it's fairly popular now (especially in comparison to underused Sage).

RoundedTum · 01/03/2021 01:21

Agree with pps that Aurora sounds princessy. ! How about Sage and

Juniper
Willow
Piper
Eden
Iris
Elodie
Aria

crabette · 01/03/2021 16:38

I immediately thought Thea for some reason? Sage & Thea. They both feel quite earthy and grounded to me, and both lovely.

Lunamaeve · 02/03/2021 20:45

Exactly how popular is it? I personally don’t know anyone with the name but curious to know!! Is it overused?

OP posts:
IamnotwhouthinkIam · 02/03/2021 21:07

About 800 girls named Aurora or Aurora-hyphenated last year (and steadily rising) compared to less than 80 babies named Aurora in 2010 (there are generally between 3 and 16 girls named Sage each year). Obviously Aurora will be more popular in some areas than others though.

Lunamaeve · 02/03/2021 21:41

Aurora actually went down a place last year? I just looked at the stats, hopefully it isn’t too popular.
