Opinions on girls name and surname please

I wouldn't normally use surnames on here but it relates to our choice and we're really struggling. We don't know if we're having a boy or girl but boys name all chosen and fine, girls name I thought would be easy but it's not!

Please could I ask for constructive criticism on these options! Catherine and Rose are both family names which have sentiment for us (I know Rose is very popular as a middle name but it was my grandmother's name and that's why I would like to use it regardless of the popularity issue). We can't use Catherine as a first name but I wouldn't be averse to Rose.

Anya Catherine Rose Head
Anna Catherine Rose Head
Isla Catherine Rose Head (LOVE Isla but massive popularity puts me off whereas DH is keen to use it anyway)
Anaya Catherine Rose Head
Amara Catherine Rose Head
Adia Catherine Rose Head
Amelie or Amalia Catherine Rose Head
Or go with Rose (Rosaline) Catherine something Head

Please help. I won't be offended in any way re the surname - the issue we're having is that I don't think all of these first names work with our surname but before I write why, I'd be interested in people's thoughts as it may just be that I'm overthinking things....

Challenging surname, not impossible though! My favourites from your list are Anna, Anya, Isla and Amelie but I’d discount Anya and Isla for reasons already stated. Whatever you choose, I agree with another pp that Rose sounds best directly after first name with Catherine at the end. Aside from the Rose head thing, it’s just a better flow. Rosali(a/e), Rosaria, Rosemary, Rosanna and Rosina are some other Rose themed variants.

Catherine Rose Head is the best.

I don't think any of the A names work.

You need a 3 syllable first name. As pp suggested Catherine is lovely.

Anya Head - absolutely not
Isla Head - ABSOLUTELY not

God Head is a hard surname isn't it!!! Hmm. Suggestion of Kitty Head just makes me picture a cat, unsurprisingly.

Anything ending in A will make surname sound like 'ahead' so they are all out if you ask me.

Adeline Head?
Amelie Head is fine but I think Amelie is a bit dull by now.

Agree about discounting the A names. To me, both Anya Head and Anna Head sound similar to 'on her head' if said in a certain way/accent.

Lillylola · 01/03/2021 14:12

I agree with the poster about longer names firing better with the surname head.

Alexandra Head sounds perfect x

Edenember · 01/03/2021 14:13

@AllMyPrettyOnes oh yeah, never thought of that with Anna... It’s ‘on her head’ while Anya is ‘on your head.’ Also just dawned on me that A initial would read A. Head. So I’d reject A name as first name completely.
