What do you think of Audrey? The more I think about it the more I like it but think it's pretty marmite for a lot of people?

Its great

Timpeall · 14/02/2021 04:39

Ten years from now Audrey will be the Isabelle or the Grace in terms of popularity. You're just ahead of the curve.

garlictwist · 14/02/2021 05:29

Are you serious? No.

DappledThings · 14/02/2021 08:37

@FunnyInjury

Love Audrey, I think Aubrey is too try-hard (for no rational reason!)
Perfectly rational. Aubrey is a boy's name so calling a girl Aubrey is very die-hard.

Audrey is nice.

FamilyOfAliens · 14/02/2021 08:39

I love Audrey.

And Audrina Smile

SparkyBlue · 14/02/2021 08:39

I love it. It's a gorgeous classic name .

BallsToYouSue · 14/02/2021 08:52

I love Audrey!

dementedma · 14/02/2021 08:55

Lovely. MP Johnny Mercer just named his new daughter Audrey. It's sweet. I would pronounce it Aww dree in my accent

JanewaysBun · 14/02/2021 09:34

I love the variant Audrina, would use this for (imaginary) dd2

TempsPerdu · 14/02/2021 09:39

It’s a good name. Very much my style in theory (I love retro names) but I can’t quite love it, probably because of the Audrey Roberts thing! But it has lots to recommend it. I know a lovely little Audrey who’s British but lives in Belgium, where I think it’s quite popular (wasn’t Audrey Hepburn born in Belgium?)

I keep hearing about Aubrey now being a girl’s name, but the two I’ve heard of recently have both been boys. Seems to be popular with a certain London hipster demographic who are resurrecting some of the really old school boys’ names.

MrsCalypsoGrant · 14/02/2021 09:41

I quite like Audrey, I loved the character of Audrey fforbes-Hamilton in To The Manor Born. My late partner's middle name was Audra which I love, she preferred it to her first name.

VenusClapTrap · 14/02/2021 10:14

I have one so I’m biased. To me, it’s elegant, strong and suits any personality and stage of life. Not frilly, not twee, well known internationally and easy to pronounce and spell.

Fortunately, it is fairly marmite and enough people hate it to stop it becoming too popular Wink

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 14/02/2021 10:19

I love it so much!! I really wanted it for dd2 but dh isn’t keen.

Lemonsyellow · 14/02/2021 10:20

I really like it.

EternalOptimist7 · 14/02/2021 10:24

I immediately think of Audrey Roberts in Corrie

MoonlightInVermont · 14/02/2021 10:32

I think it’s a lovely name (and Aubrey is a girl’s name only in the way that James is, with a certain sort of parent who gives a boy’s name to a girl but wouldn’t dream of calling a boy Clara).

Whatsyourflava · 14/02/2021 10:32

Love love love it. One of my favourites and wish I could use. Please use it @theworks

Soozikinzii · 14/02/2021 10:34

I like Audrey and especially Audra I knew an Audra and really liked that version. I also thought of Aubrey ( Aubrey Beardsley) as a mans name till a friend s daughter called her baby girl Aubrey so I looked it up and it's mostly a girl s name in America apparently ! The girl who played lily in modern family is called Aubrey so maybe that's why it's fashionable?

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 15/02/2021 11:30

Really like it

reprehensibleme · 15/02/2021 11:32

Audrey is lovely - don't know how much I'm influenced by Hepburn but it sounds elegant, cool and graceful. Can't help thinking Aubrey is a boy's name.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 15/02/2021 11:36

I like it, Audrey was on the list for DD2's middle name along with Esther & sometimes I wish I'd gone with Audrey instead of Anne.

SemperIdem · 15/02/2021 20:36

I would use Audrey were it not for the utterly vile one I had the displeasure of working with.
