Looking for an Indian name and really like these names and their meanings. Can you think of any drawbacks to the names? I believe Mahika is pronounced as
“Maa-hee-ka”
and Mihika is pronounced as Mee-hee-ka. I might use one of these as either a first name or a middle name!

I prefer Mahika. That one vowel difference makes all the difference I think. Mahika is pleasant to say whereas Mihika feels more awkward.

It's a totally new name to me so I've no preconceived notions about it. No idea if it's modern or old-fashioned. I think it's nice though.

I prefer Mahika, but they both sound a bit like Mahiki which is a club in Mayfair- that would put me off

Personally I think Radhika is nicer

Talk to lots of family members who are fluent about the Pronounciation and spelling if you’re not sure.

I’m not fluent in my culture language either - I’m second /third generation but I still wanted my kids to have cultural names so I got advice from people who are better at transliteration than I am and I am glad I took the time.

I find Mahika easier to say. It seems like a lovely name.

Mahika Is easier to say.

Being brutally honest in a UK context they do both sound like the name of a bar or a cocktail.

I’ve been told Serena is also popular in India? If so it works well in the UK

The associations to a bar and club are a bit worrying! I do love the name though, is the link a big deal? Mahika is a Sanskrit name so I don’t think it’s modern in that sense
