Name to go with Hudson

What names do you think go with Hudson, as a brothers name? It took us forever to find a boys name we loved for DS, who is called Hudson. There were literally no back up names, it was that or nothing! So I’m thinking, if we have another boy, how am I going to suddenly find another name I like when I’ve already spent 9 months dismissing them all bar one!

@CeibaTree well I personally don’t think Hudson is potentially chavvy sooo I’m not worried there

@bleachblondemom I absolutely love Hudson! It has a different feel to other surname type names for me because of the river. So I wouldn’t feel pressured into ‘matching’ it.

Jude was a great suggestion. Someone mentioned Ellis too which is a great fit! And personally I could see Kit working too.

I agree with you re Blake tbh op! It can go either way really.

Rafferty is a good shout imo.

Archer? It is HATED on here (and some wit will pop up to say "what? As in, a bowman?"), but I like it, shortened to Archie.

Monty?

I don't think Blake is potentially any more "chavy" than Hudson.
They are very similar types of name.

Chase

Because Hudson is more commonly a surname, I'd stick with similar surname style names but that don't end in "n" too - Maxwell, Heath, Ellis, Elliott, Bennett, Rafferty, Finley, Brody, Willoughby, Fraser, Blake, Reid, Harris, Sawyer etc (sorry for repeats). Or choose a subtle River theme and use Leith!

Agree. I really like Blake.

emmathedilemma · 29/01/2021 20:12

Lol @IamnotwhouthinkIam it’s only subtle if you’re not from Edinburgh!! Shock
Although on that basis, what about Clyde?

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 29/01/2021 20:16

The Hudson I know has a brother called Ryder

bleachblondemom · 29/01/2021 20:22

Ellis and Kit are good shouts, I like them. I see some agreement for Blake as well :) oh and I love Chase but I don’t think DH would be keen, I thought Hudson was out-there enough for him. Chase is very American high school movie lol
