We really struggle with names but we have landed on Jemima and as the days go on, we both actually like it.

I just can't decide if its OK or if we have lost our minds?! So tell me sensible people, what do you think of Jemima?

Any names like Jemima we might like?

Jemima is lovely.

I'm a 34 year old Jemima and love my name! I always get lots of nice comments about it, and it's unusual enough that I hardly ever meet another one, but normal enough that the majority of people know how to say it. I do get people misreading and calling me 'Jemma' from time to time, and some struggle with the spelling, but that doesn't bother me much. I'm aware of the Aunt Jemima thing but I've travelled quite a bit in America and it has never been a problem, and nobody has ever said anything to me about it. If you like it, go for it! You do of course get the odd 'puddleduck' comment, but not that often really and it's usually from someone of an older generation!

Thanks for such an insightful comment there. Ever heard the phrase, ‘if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything’?

Awful, rheumy name. Puts me in mind of a spoilt, whiny child with a runny nose.

Jemima is lovely.

I love it.

Jemima

In my mind it goes with these names, but is the best of them all:
Tabitha
Matilda
Arabella
Clementine
Charlotte/Charlotta
Alexandra
Georgiana
