I'd go classical (Greek/Roman) that have rarely, if ever been in the top 100 so shouldn't feel too dated - like Claudia, Antonia, Viola, Cecilia, Xanthe, Ianthe, Serena, Selene.

Or short, non-cutesy names could feel "fresh" - such as Lara, Cara, May, Faye, Gwen, Tess, Nia, Gaia.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/12/2020 01:37

Well you can’t really have trendy but not in the top 100. It has to be either one of the other when you think about it.
Trendy means trending/popular.
A name out of the top 100 is far from trending.

@TheNanny23 oh right, sorry!

Love the names you’ve suggested.

Foxglovesandprimroses · 23/12/2020 08:33

Pbbananabagel - you are wrong.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catriona#:~:text=Catriona%20(pronounced%20%22Katrina%22%2C,forms%20of%20the%20English%20Katherine.

And I have known several Catrionas who would all agree.

HTH

Foxglovesandprimroses · 23/12/2020 08:36

Of course, you could spell it Katrina; I personally think the former is prettier.

Clarissa

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/12/2020 08:43

Yes, the fada is on the "i" not the "o". So it's cat- REE-(uh)-na.

RosesAndHellebores · 23/12/2020 09:41

@Henio how can Mali possibly be pronounced that same as Sally?

The name Catriona is pronounced ‘Cat-ree-Oh-na’

Katrina is the correct spelling for ‘Kat-ree-na’[/quote]
Not in Scotland. I know several Catrionas where it’s pronounced Cat-Ree-Na

Henio · 23/12/2020 10:47
