Ottilie or Lyla/Lilah?

I think we've narrowed our shortlist down to our favourite two. I personally prefer the 'Lilah' spelling, but I have put both down just for options.

Middle name is set in stone to honour a great grandmother who has sadly passed.

Ottilie Heather

Lyla Heather
Lilah Heather

Which do you prefer? Opinions? Or any suggestions to make me more confused? 😂

Ottilile is so twee and sickly.

Lila is one of my favourite names but adding the h spoils it IMO.

Lyla is ok but Lila is much nicer. Ottilie Heather is a no for me - “utterly Heather”, sounds like a shade of Dulux!

Lilah/Lyla is probably better in my opinion because in lots of places I can imagine the ‘il’ part in “Otillie” would very easily be dropped due to accent, meaning it would sound more like “Otley” which may not be what you want.

Of Lilah and Lyla, I prefer Lyla myself!

I would choose Lila. Find this spelling prettiest and least fussy.

Ottilie is just ugly and fussy to me and makes me think of otters.

I’m not that keen on Ottilie.

I like Lila or Lyla. Both go well with Heather as a middle name.

I think Lyla looks nicer on the page than Lilah. Lilah will also be pronounces Lee-la whereas Lyla is clear.

I love Ottilie and Lyla. Ottilie will get shortened to Tilly or Ottie whereas Lyla is nickname-proof.

I used to love Lila in Sweet Valley High so I vote Lila/ Lilah!
