Love the name Finn for our first born. We are in the South East. How common is it? I know a 18 month old named Finn who lives in London and no others. Are there loads of Finns?

Also - general thoughts on the name?

Thanks

It ranks 86th in England and Wales names.darkgreener.com/#finn

But it's also used as a short form for the more popular Finlay/Finley:

I've got a Finn, so obviously think it's a great name. He's 11 and we've hardly met any other Finns - certainly none in his class either at primary or secondary in SE London. My only regret is not spelling it Fionn. If you love the name, go for it!

Hi, I'm a childminder in the south east and I know 5 Finn's under the age of 3! I think it's really shooting up in popularity xx

I’ve got a 3.5 year old Finn and love the name. We don’t know any other Finn’s, live in the Midlands.

Thanks everyone. I think it's a lovely name. Thankfully my hubby isn't coming up with anything so hopefully I'll have a Finn soon!

Finn is nice. I'm in Scotland and only know one, he's a lovely wee boy

Thank you so much 😄 - wondering if any teachers or more child minders see this and have any ideas....!

I have a Fynn. He is 16. The only other 1 I knew was when his teacher in primary school called her ds it!
Know no more.

I know a baby Finn and about 4 Finleys/Finlays. I think Finn on it’s own is lovely

DramaAlpaca · 02/12/2020 22:28

I love it. Unfortunately I ran out of sons to name so I had to use it on the dog Grin

Love it

MaryBoBary · 03/12/2020 07:28

Yep I like the name but used it on the dog before we had children Grin he's Finlay shortened to Finn. I don't know any young Finns and I work in primary schools. I also met a Flynn and really liked that name too.

ILoveYoga · 03/12/2020 07:31

Another who likes the name but used it on the dog as no more sons (son has dad’s name - DH choice).

FluffMagnet · 03/12/2020 07:53

In the South East it is also a common surname.

Biggerloudermoreteeth · 03/12/2020 14:46

Finn / Finlay / Finley are all massively popular and have been for a few years now. It is a nice name though.

hardtimeuphere · 03/12/2020 16:00

Don't know any Finn's but loads of Finley/Finlay's. I like Finn and
absolutely love Flynn though and it is second on our list for a boy for us.

mummabearfourbabybears · 03/12/2020 16:13

Don't move to southern Scotland if you want it to be more unique. It's very common here.
