Already have three daughters ...

What do you think of
Tess Abigail

and
Alfred (Fred) Clive (Clive is the name of DH's lovely dad, and DH has wanted to use his name as a middle name for all our previous three who were girls, so I'm happy about it, though my own dad is going through chemo right now and I'm worried about honouring one dad and not the other. Though my brother gave his son my dad's name as a middle name, so it might not matter really.)

I think Tessa Abigail would be better.
Although I prefer it the other way round
Abigail Tess.

Is there a reason why DS couldn't have 2 middle names (for both Grandads)? Normally I'd say siblings should have the same amount of middle names to avoid any jealousy, but if you aren't planning on more kids (so he would be the only boy amongst his sisters), then I think it's fine.

Alfred is nice, makes me think of Alfred the Great - just be aware he might get the more popular nn's Alfie/Freddie, as much as Fred.

Tess is lovely - usually I prefer the full name on the BC (so Theresa) but I think thanks to the famous Hardy novel, Tess could standalone - it has a romantic, yet strong feel.

Lovely.

Mmm thanks for the double middle name idea - I have thought about that, but there's also politics with my stepdad and it all just gets insane. My mum will make a huge fuss saying he's been treated like he's not a real grandad (which he genuinely is - he's brilliant). I'm slightly thinking we should steer clear of grandparents' names entirely to avoid the politics!

Definitely like Tess more than Tessa, and v happy for Fred to be Freddie - either/or. I recognise that he might one day become Alfie if it evolves that way, but we'll just call him Fred/Freddie from the start and if it goes a different way, that's life! Wouldn't necessarily choose Alfie but not averse to it either.

Thanks all!
