What do you all think? I saw someone name there child Wolfe recently and I love it

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FourPlatinumRings · 23/11/2020 04:08

It's OK. Think I prefer Fox, on balance.

Tavannach · 23/11/2020 04:18

I think, but I'm not sure, that one of Rory Stewart's children has this as a middle name?
I quite like it but then I think what if the child turns out to be the opposite of such a definitive name? A gentle harmonious soul called Wolfe doesn't really work.

MerchantOfVenom · 23/11/2020 04:34

There was a Wolf/e(?) on DS’s football team.

Wouldn’t go there myself - way too gimmicky - but each to their own.

garlictwist · 23/11/2020 04:46

Reminds me of the tv show Gladiators

Sandcastles09 · 23/11/2020 04:52

Love it but as a nickname for Wilfred, not ire I’d be brave enough to use it on its own.

Ploki · 23/11/2020 04:54

I also like Seale and Badgere.

MercyBodle · 23/11/2020 09:29

It's okay.

YoniAndGuy · 23/11/2020 10:52

Like, but really as Wulf, or Wolf short for Wolfgang

Twizbe · 23/11/2020 17:40

I know several Wolfies. Most are Wolf on the BC, but one is Wolfric.

I personally could never use it, my mum would just keep calling him Foxy ...

LemonsYellow · 23/11/2020 17:49

No. It would be embarrassing for him. It’d be OK as a middle name. Call him Wulfric or Wolfgang if you must.

Nell96 · 23/11/2020 18:31

Reminds me of Wolf from Gladiators. Not a fan. Also dislike Fox, Bear, Sparrow etc.

Spied · 23/11/2020 18:33

Really don't like it.
I can't imagine many boys/men actually suit the name either. It's a bit overpowering.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/11/2020 20:40

Wolf/Wulfric is one of my secret guilty pleasure names (and Bear, Fox etc - not sure about the extra e on Wolfe though!), but I don't know if I'd be brave enough to use it in RL.

I'd use Zev (which means Wolf) or Wilfred with Wolf/Wolfie as a nickname though (or Wolfgang if German/Austrian).

DramaAlpaca · 23/11/2020 23:35

I don't like it at all.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 27/11/2020 16:23

It’s a no from me

Eleanora8 · 28/11/2020 00:19

It’s a bit like calling a child ‘dog’. Just don’t!

FourPlatinumRings · 28/11/2020 11:22

@Eleanora8

It’s a bit like calling a child ‘dog’. Just don’t!
No more than calling a child Daisy is akin to calling them Hogweed.
Enko · 28/11/2020 11:26

I don't care for it

VenusClapTrap · 28/11/2020 19:41

Naff

festivebug · 29/11/2020 04:11

I know of two Wolfs, it's not my favourite but it is a nice strong sounding name.

August20 · 29/11/2020 04:28

It's all right as a nickname but I wouldn't pick it as a real name.

user1493494961 · 30/11/2020 11:33

It's a definite no from me.

Whatsyourflava · 30/11/2020 13:10

I quite like it

EdithWeston · 30/11/2020 13:12
