William and Elsie?
How do they sound as a sibset. I know that William is more of a timeless classic, whereas elsie has had a recent revival but they are both old names and could be Bill and Elsie when they're old people.
Or do you think Elisabeth is better with Elsie as a nickname?
Any other suggestions welcome.

William is regal and classic. Elsie is more old lady chic. Sorry. It isn't classic in the way William is.

I also know 2 Elsie's under 2.

If you want a classic to go with William

Elizabeth
Alexandra
Anne
Alice

Etc

I have a William and Florence.

I like Elisabeth and longer classic names with William! Grin

I prefer Elisabeth nicknamed Elsie.

They are nice together.

Love it!

Elsie is an old lady name, despite its renewed popularity in recent years. Their are much nicer names. Eliza, Elizabeth - Libby as a nickname - Eloise, Elissa if you want a name starting with E.

Me too, I was just surprised nobody had got there before me Grin

I like William and Elsie together. I'd probably go for Elizabeth on the birth certificate - it would give her more options later on, as I think Elsie might start feeling quite dated. Other names you might like -

Eloise
Beatrice / Beatrix
Florence
Rose / Rosa
Sophie
Lucy

Nell96 · 19/11/2020 12:59

Oooh - there's also Elise - pretty, underused.

PabloHoneyBee · 19/11/2020 15:20

I'd go with Elspeth, which is lovely and could get shortened to Elsie? Elisabeth is nice to. Loads of nn / shortening options there.
