Absolutely love the name Norah and it is also the name of my Grandmother. I’m worried it might be a bit too old fashioned though. What do you thinks?

I think a lot of these more traditional names are making a come back, I really like the name, I wouldn't use it myself, but I had a great aunt who was called it, a lovely, warm, smiley person.

Newborn at school gates called this. My nb is called Dora. Another friend has called hers Cora. All lovely.

I love it, it was my great grandmothers name but spelt 'Nora'.

I love it and had a wobble of name regret after calling last dd something else, wished I'd used it as we had a great great auntie Nora who was just wonderful in every way. It's lovely, I would have left off the h because I'm a bit annoyed by unnecessary letters but it doesn't make a lot of difference. Very lovely.

I think it's lovely, especially with the "h" on the end - it's a bit abrupt without. Definitely one of those comeback names akin to Esme, Meg, Rose and Ruby.

Norah is having a come back. I really like Eleanor nn Nora for my DD but it didn't suit her when she was born

I love it

Old fashioned names are very in at the moment, she’ll probably be in a class with names like Edith, Albert, Stanley and Florence so Norah really won’t stand out

I like it - I teach in the ME so loads of Noras, Nourhans, Nuriyes, Noors & Nours! (The last two are unisex).

It means 'light' in Arabic, so roughly equivalent to Lucy or Luke, & 'honour' in various European countries, so very positive connotations.

Nice sensible name, due a comeback.

Totally up to you of course, but to me it's a very ugly, unattractive name that sounds old fashioned and not at all fresh.

I don't like it at all. I've never known one. It's just not a very attractive sounding name. Nora Batty comes to mind. Pretty awful actually.
