Scottish Names?

DH is Scottish and loves the idea of using a Scottish name. Surname is McN....

I like the idea of honouring the heritage, but I can't find many Scottish names I love!

I really like Lochlan for a boy, (but we have a nephew named Lochlan so couldn't use!) and I love Isla for a girl, but hate how popular it's been the past few years.

Can't find any others I like as much, and want to try and like at least some options to discuss with DH!

I'm looking for something recognisable, not too obscure. Strong / masculine for a boy, and... strong / feminine for a girl I guess!

Other names I like (not Scottish!) Are Nina, Owen, Arthur, Emilia... etc.

Please spam me any good ideas!

Eilidh - pronounced A-lee

We’re using Lachlan because I can’t use my favourite - Cormac Grin

Torin is also high on the list - not necessarily Scottish but known.

A lot of these names are very Scottish but wouldn’t really be used in Scotland. For example, in Scotland “Lorne” is sausage (flat and square) it’s the standard sausage in Scotland. If you want the tube style sausage you ask for links. I can’t imagine anyone using it as a name. It would be like naming your child Haggis.

I'm in Scotland and that's just bizarre.

Lorne is the firth of Lorne and perfectly acceptable as a name. I know a couple. Though I think one is Lorn. I think either is acceptable and in use.

I'm not sure which of the other names listed wouldn't be used in Scotland either. A couple of dodgy spellings, but I don't see any names that I haven't met someone with.
