Hello, I previously made a post about the name Tadhg and have since decided that it will be the name we use when our son is born. I'm struggling to think of a middle name that does go well with Tadhg. I was previously liking the name Paxton, after my grandad, and as much as I think the name Tadhg Paxton is nice I'm not sure if it is the name I want to go for.

I was hoping that maybe I could get some more middle name suggestions by making this post. Thank you

Tadhg Paxton is perfect.

Adair?

Paxton is horrendous (no offence to your granded or the late, great Bill).

Tadhg Patrick is similar in flow but infinitely nicer to my (admittedly Irish!) ear.

Think you definitely need a two syllable name after Tadhg.

mathanxiety · 03/11/2020 16:26

I think you should incorporate Paxton somehow. Maybe use two middle names?

Tadhg Daniel Paxton
Tadhg Francis Paxton
Tadhg Brendan Paxton
Tadhg James Paxton
Tadhg Joseph Paxton
Tadhg Declan Paxton
Tadhg Edward Paxton

If you drop Paxton you could consider Oliver or Oscar. I would try to avoid initials T-O-P Surname.

Tadhg Paxton is nice. I also like Tadhg Patrick (or Tadhg Peadar if you want to amp up the Irishness).

I presume you've Irish connections? If so, a definite no to Adair. Name of a place and a well known loyalist paramilitary thug.

Are you in Ireland? I'm in England and haven't got a clue how to pronounce Tadhg so can't think of a suitable middle name. Sorry!

If you explain how it is pronounced, more people will be able to think of a name.

SionnachRua · 03/11/2020 16:31

Tadhg = Tiger without the r.

MarjorieX · 03/11/2020 16:40

@EmmaGrundyForPM I'm pronouncing Tadhg like Tiger, without the R. I'm also in England but DH and I are both half irish so we also have irish relatives.

@mathanxiety I quite like Tadhg Brendan actually. My other children all have one middle name so I'm not thinking of using two.
