Zee-va.

Like on NCIS.

missmouse101 · 02/11/2020 15:41

Zee va. Not keen on the name really. Much prefer Zara.

Quercus3 · 02/11/2020 15:41

Zeeva. It's nice.

BigMamaFratelli · 02/11/2020 15:42

Zee-va. I like it

TeenPlusTwenties · 02/11/2020 15:42

Agree with Marmite.

(I would assume you had links with a non-UK country.)

IsAWookieABear · 02/11/2020 15:43

Zee-va. I've never heard it before, but I really like it.

biggirlknickers · 02/11/2020 15:51

Zee-va. I’m not keen, unless you have non-UK roots.

sparklepink · 02/11/2020 15:52

Not sure. Sounds a bit similar to Zika for my liking!

MinnieJackson · 02/11/2020 15:54

Zee-va. Not sure about it, I guess depends on the surname, and I automatically thought of it as a girl's name but you may be having a boy?

Hidinge · 02/11/2020 15:54

I'd pronounce it like Zika as in the virus. Initial feeling is it's a bit meh. Then I think ziva the diva and urgh

Legooo · 02/11/2020 15:55

Zee - vah.

I would also assume you and/or your dh had foreign heritage.

Lozz22 · 02/11/2020 15:55

Zee va

MumChats · 02/11/2020 15:57

another vote for zee vah

NameChange84 · 02/11/2020 15:58

Zee vuh

It’s ok.

CosyQueen · 02/11/2020 16:00

I’d guess Zee-Va
I’m not a fan of the name personally

Standrewsschool · 02/11/2020 16:01

Either Zee-Vah or Ziv - Va. Not Zay-Va.

I would also assume a foreign heritage.

Namechangedforthisoct2 · 02/11/2020 16:02

Zee-vah

I’ve not heard of it before and my immediate cynical thought is a medication / pharmaceutical company name..... however if I met a Ziva I’m sure I’d love the name and thought it’s actually a really cool, unusual easy to spell and pronounce name!

PattyPan · 02/11/2020 16:03

Zee- vuh. Never heard it before, don’t have an opinion on it really - neither love nor hate. Sounds maybe Arabic so I would assume it has a meaning I don’t know. I would be surprised to see it on a child without non-U.K. roots.

hopingforonlychild · 02/11/2020 16:03

@sarahb083 its my sister in law's name. Are you Jewish. We pronounce it Zee-va.

My MIL is very religious and her children all had Hebrew names, which isn't that common even amongst UK Jews. I think it would be normal in israel.

Dinosauraddict · 02/11/2020 16:04

I would automatically pronounce it Zee-vah but have never seen/heard it before. Is that how it is supposed to be pronounced Op?

hopingforonlychild · 02/11/2020 16:06

@PattyPan my SIL is English but its her name. Its Israeli but some (usually religious but not always) Jews like to have Hebrew names rather than Hebrew anglicized names like David, Sarah etc.

jmh740 · 02/11/2020 16:09

Zee va big ncis fan

doctorhamster · 02/11/2020 16:12

Zee-va.

NameChange84 · 02/11/2020 16:16

I’d also assume that you were ultra orthodox Jewish or Arab.

sarahb083 · 02/11/2020 16:18

Thanks all. I'm English and my husband is Indian/English. We agree on some 'standard' English names (Emma and Eva are current favourites), but we also both like some unique names - especially Ziva and Priya. Having grown up as one of many, many Sarahs, I'm leaning towards something more unique, but I don't want to saddle future DD with a hard to pronounce name! We also love Zoe but can't use it. Any other suggestions we may like?
