There are 2 (that I know of) boys called Rudy in my dcs primary school. So I don't think it crazily unusual. I quite like it.

The girl Rudy (2)I know, it's short for Rudy. Why do people always assume a name is short for something. The boy Rudi (16) I know is also short for Rudi.

Yes silly me. I forgot no one is ever allowed to use a diminutive as a name here because its not 'real'. (I've even seen people claim my nieces name isn't real and no one is actually called that on their BC. Despite the fact she is. Maybe i imagined her)

They don't need to quit, they need to change their name to something longer, and in case they change their mind they need plenty of scope for several nn.

Abbi could be Arabella or Annabella as MN isn't keen on Abigail.
Jamie could be Jacobus or Jamieson.
