Love it

Juanbablo · 25/10/2020 07:24

I like it. My friend's little boy is Rudy and he's a total dude.

QuimReaper · 25/10/2020 08:36

What's Rudy short for when it's a girl?

wizzywig · 25/10/2020 08:39

Huxtable

Queenoftheashes · 25/10/2020 08:41

Considering the current Rudy Giuliani embarrassment i would steer clear for now. I quite like the name though.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/10/2020 09:05

I love Rudi/Rudy and would use it if we didnt have a R surname

Whatsyourflava · 25/10/2020 09:23

Love it

Tfoot75 · 25/10/2020 09:29

There are 2 (that I know of) boys called Rudy in my dcs primary school. So I don't think it crazily unusual. I quite like it.

AnnaMagnani · 25/10/2020 09:40

Leave it for a bit - does sound like you are Rudy Guliani's greatest fan.

Firebird83 · 25/10/2020 11:16

Makes me think of Rudy Giuliani too

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 25/10/2020 13:02

@QuimReaper

What's Rudy short for when it's a girl?
The girl Rudy (2)I know, it's short for Rudy. Why do people always assume a name is short for something. The boy Rudi (16) I know is also short for Rudi.
MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 13:05

@ImNotWhoYouThinkIam, now, now, you know that this is MN and you need a long name on the bc.
Rudy for a girl is short for Rudibelliana
and Rudi boy is shorf for Rudlophus.

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 13:05

Rudolphus even.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 25/10/2020 13:08

Yes silly me. I forgot no one is ever allowed to use a diminutive as a name here because its not 'real'. (I've even seen people claim my nieces name isn't real and no one is actually called that on their BC. Despite the fact she is. Maybe i imagined herGrin)

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 13:18

It will cost her that professorship or high court judge job.
Maybe your sibling could change it by deed poll to something more suitable.
Then again, she might want to be a stripper in which case they could just double-barrell it.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 25/10/2020 13:30

It's such a shame 5 year old Edie has to be written off already. But it's the only way.

I'll also tell the adult Jamie (as named on birth certificate) I know to step down from his PT/physical therapy/qualified post. And Nurse Abbi (short for Abbi) that she just can't be a nurse and needs to quit immediately because she just doesn't have a real name Grin

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 14:04

They don't need to quit, they need to change their name to something longer, and in case they change their mind they need plenty of scope for several nn.

Abbi could be Arabella or Annabella as MN isn't keen on Abigail.
Jamie could be Jacobus or Jamieson.
Edie could be Elouise-Delilah. [sic] ED - geddit.

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 14:05

I think I should go and do some housework or something as I am being silly.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 25/10/2020 14:08

I should always be doing housework. But MN is more fun Grin
I shall let know immediately. Should I also suggest they go low/no contact with their parents? On account of naming them so badly in the first place?

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 14:26

Haven't they been taken into care?
