Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Oneandabean · 24/10/2020 23:44

Niamh is very popular, I know of 8 under 6 in England and Wales. Lucy is nice but Beth is my favourite

Dipsy77 · 25/10/2020 05:42

@LittleRa I have a Rebecca she's 23 now but when she was little we called her becca but as soon as she was old enough to say we called her bex I don't like Becky either xx

joystir59 · 25/10/2020 05:47

The only thing I would say is that the names of your children don't need to go together. You can choose different styles of names if you wish.

Angelina82 · 25/10/2020 05:48

I like all the names on your list but Erin is my favourite.

Waitingforamate · 25/10/2020 07:36

I know a Rebecca Katherine and she only ever goes by Rebecca. Beautiful, classic names Smile
I also love Erin.

AcrobaticCardigan · 25/10/2020 07:46

Love Erin & Aoife, quite dislike the rest.

Glitterbubbles · 25/10/2020 07:48

Erin, Lucy, Emile and Aoife are all lovely 😊

Glitterbubbles · 25/10/2020 07:49

Emmie not Emile!

TheVanguardSix · 25/10/2020 07:49

I have a Rebecca Elizabeth, so obviously, I'd choose that name. Yes, she is a Becks/Becky at home and among her friends (who do also call her Rebecca more than Becky, especially as she gets older- she's 10).

Lucy would be my other choice.

TheVanguardSix · 25/10/2020 07:52

Actually, the pet name we use most of all for our Rebecca is Boo (ever since she was a baby). Even her PE teacher shouts Becky Boo across the playground. Grin She goes red but she loves it.

From my first marriage, I have a grown niece in her 20s named Rebecca but she's only ever been known as Ruby.

I think Lucy, Katherine or Rebecca go best with Alice.

Whatthebloodyell · 25/10/2020 07:59

Alice and....

Lucy
Emma (Nn emmie)
Catherine

macdhui · 25/10/2020 08:10

Catherine or Lucy

LittleRa · 25/10/2020 08:21

Thanks for more replies!
What do people think of nicknames for Catherine? Does/can it just stay Catherine? Katie/Catie? Kitty? I prefer it with a C but DP prefers it with a K (Katherine), both of us like -ine ending as opposed to -yn.

I love Catherine and spelt that way. The Catherine I know gets Catherine.

Milkshake7489 · 25/10/2020 08:57

Rebecca is my favourite. It's beautiful and quite underused now I think.

Niamh is also gorgeous and I love Emmie (though I prefer it as a nickname for Emmeline)

But to be honest, all your options are nice!

Ladderofyears · 25/10/2020 09:12

Alice is lovely.

Erin - I think I might be an outlier but I've never understood the love for this. It always seems a very insubstantial name to me.
Niamh - it's ok. I know a very large number of Niamhs and Neves in North London (mostly in their mid to late teens) so I think that's made me bored of it
Lucy - lovely and goes very well with Alice
Emmie - I really like this but prefer Emma or Emmeline as the full name
Aoife - this is my favourite of your "Irish" names. I think it looks too similar to Alice though
Caitlin - not a fan at all
Beth - love this. Prefer Bethan, Elizabeth or Elspeth as full versions
Rebecca - nice. Not very common nowadays
Catherine/Katherine - lovely

My favourites are Katherine, Lucy and Beth

Twisique · 25/10/2020 09:53

Alice and Kate

OwlOne · 25/10/2020 10:16

I like Aran (like the Island) much more than Erin

LittleRa · 25/10/2020 10:19

@OwlOne Isn’t Aran a boy’s name (I know it’s a different name to Aaron but still think it’s a boy’s name).

OP posts:
Pipapple · 25/10/2020 10:21

Lucy is lovely

OwlOne · 25/10/2020 10:22

I think it is! but because I knew one when I was young I think of it as unisex.

FreeAcorns · 25/10/2020 10:31

I love Beth! It's a lovely on its own, doesn't need to be Elizabeth. I also like Catherine and Lucy.
I work in a school too and it's jam packed with Erins - we were all saying the other day how incredibly popular it's become! Personally I don't really like it and I don't like Rebecca either. The others are ok.

Bl0ndi3 · 25/10/2020 11:04

Erin my fave but also love Lucy too x

SmileyT · 25/10/2020 11:12

@LittleRa ahh such cute names... I had a little peak at surname 🙈 and my faves would be Erin and Beth now and it would take Niamh down my list.

One of my besties is Katherine but at school we called her Katy/ by her surname because there was a few in our year.

Had to google Aoife, never heard that name before... I would've pronounced it completely wrong 😂

Ahh I'm excited for you to pick 💖
