We're wanting a short name because DD's both have quite short names. What do you think of this list?

In order I like Indie, Ada, Jade, Maeve, Olive, Faye, Pearl, Violet ( looks too much like Violent).

Ada, but also like Indie and Olive a lot.

Love Maeve, and like Ada and Faye (although Ada is shooting up in popularity at the moment if that bothers you?).

Indie and Jade feel a bit trendy/less classic to me (although I love India) and Olive, Pearl and Violet feel the opposite - too old-fashioned for me.

I've never met an Ada and it feels like a strong and elegant name to me, so if it were my choice I would pick that.

It also makes me think of Ada Lovelace.

indie sounds like a motor race. jade is goody. fay sounds like an adjective to be avoided. olive from on the buses. ada sounds really common, i mean below stairs, a scullery maid. maeve is to mavis as call me dave is to david.
