Which do you prefer & why?
Thank you.

P.s the meaning of all three of these beautiful underused names is 'Light' Star

Lucy, it's the name of the little girl from Narnia. Lucienne sounds like a boys name to me and although Lucie is pretty, I think shes would spend her whole life correcting people on the spelling as most people would assume it's Lucy

milienhaus · 21/10/2020 12:12

I like Lucie - I’ve know a lot of Lucy’s but only one Lucie so it feel rarer (while still being an acknowledged spelling etc).

emmathedilemma · 21/10/2020 12:17

Lucy so she doesn't spend the rest of her life saying "with an ie not a y on the end"!

CeibaTree · 21/10/2020 12:18

From your list Lucy is the nicest. How about Lucinda? I think that is a really pretty and underused name if you want a longer version.

GroundAlmonds · 21/10/2020 12:19

Lucia.

LittleMissLockdown · 21/10/2020 12:19

Lucy. Unless you want her to have to add with an 'ie' not a 'y' to the end of her name from the minute she can talk and for the rest of her life.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 21/10/2020 12:26

I think Lucy is best... Lucie just feels like you’re trying to make a point of being different, and you’ll always have to spell it out.

Not too keen on Lucienne - it sounds like there’s more than one Lucy in the class and this one is “Lucy N”. Or could also be pronounced “Loo-she-en”.

Sorry to be so negative - I do think the classic Lucy is lovely though.

Felicity88 · 21/10/2020 12:31

Thank you for the feedback. Not so keen on Lucinda or Lucia. I hadn't thought of Lucienne as Lucy-N and that's put me off. Also the mention of it reminding someone of a boys name is something I also hadn't considered and I'm now reminded of Lucifer, Lucian etc.

Lucy

VenusClapTrap · 21/10/2020 13:07

I love Lucienne. Dh has an aunt with this name and I’ve always thought it was lovely.

CaffiSaliMali · 21/10/2020 16:16

I would go with Lucy - it's a lovely name

PrimeraVez · 21/10/2020 16:18

I love both Lucy and Lucie.
Lucienne sounds like a boys name to me.

HowFastIsTooFast · 21/10/2020 16:30

Lucy. I know a lovely Lucy.

Lucienne reminds me of Lucian. I know one of those two and he's a knob Hmm

SeanCailleach · 21/10/2020 17:05

Lucy
Classic name

Changedname81 · 21/10/2020 17:29

Love them all

(No help) I’m vying for a Lucie Eloïse but DP wants Daisy ... Halloween Envy

DramaAlpaca · 21/10/2020 18:35

I'd go for just Lucy. It's simple and pretty and it's the established spelling. Lovely name and meaning.

Fearofawelshplanet · 21/10/2020 18:38

We have Lucille Wink

OhRosalind · 21/10/2020 18:55

Lucy is classic and beautiful. Not Lucie unless you’re French, people will always misspell it. I like all the related names - Lucile, Lucia, Lucinda - but Lucy is the nicest imo.

MikeUniformMike · 21/10/2020 19:20

Lucy.
Lucienne looks like a made up name, though it might not be, and is nowhere near as pretty as Lucy.

SadWife2020 · 22/10/2020 22:32

Lucy - keep it classic and classy

MercyBodle · 23/10/2020 00:27

I love all three. I think Lucienne is a fresh and more unusual way of having a Lucy name. You could always use Lucy/Lucie as a nickname.
