Honest thoughts on this as a name for either gender. We have a very lovely association to Argyll and I recently met a girl named this and I thought it was so sweet. I feel it could work on a male too.

If it doesn't work as a first, perhaps as a middle?

Thanks xx

I like it. I had assumed a boy's name, but usable for a girl too I think.

I could see it making a really good name for a Scottish terrier/Westie type dog, not for a human

I think it would be great as a meaningful middle name, alongside a more traditional/commonly uses firstname.

Thomas Argyll
Henry Argyll
James Argyll

I'm not personally keen for a girl though, sorry.

First thoughts...

  1. Football team
  2. Socks or jumpers
  3. Weird thing to call a boy, but hey

I'd have a hard time biting my tongue if a friend told me they were considering this for their daughter, sorry OP.
