Thoughts on trixie?! I'm pregnant with DC2 - don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet but my girl list is really struggling.
I quite like trixie but not sure if it's a bit out there!

Tricksy.

MikeUniformMike · 15/10/2020 14:13

It's quite sweet - as a nn for Beatrix perhaps. Or Trixibelle.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 15/10/2020 14:15

Like it as a nm for Beatrix

MikeUniformMike · 15/10/2020 14:18

A boy could be Dixie like Dixey Dean or short for Dixter. Maybe Dexy short for Dexter would be better if you're not a fan of the toffeemen.

@GinWithASplashOfTonic yes I love that!! Thank you

I don't really like it, sounds like a pet. Sorry to say it also sounds a bit downmarket to me but that's just me being rude I think
Beatrix nn Trixie is nice though
I like Roxanne or Roxanna nickname Roxy but appreciate you probably don't

micc · 15/10/2020 15:07

I agree with Beatrix with the nn Trixie. It's really sweet, but it also sounds really fun :) love it

chickensoup23 · 15/10/2020 15:55

Thanks guys. Very useful

My first thoughts were Trixie Mattel (drag queen).

Think it’s a nice nickname, but needs a more grown up name to fall back on for work etc maybe.

DramaAlpaca · 15/10/2020 16:27

Lovely for a Yorkshire terrier, one of those yappy ones with a little bow on its head.

It's not great on a human being. Sorry.

Firebird83 · 15/10/2020 16:29

Nice short for Beatrix

GoldenPlover · 15/10/2020 16:31

I don't mind it, it reminds me of the character in Call The Midwife (the character's full name is Beatrix).

MuserOwl · 15/10/2020 16:33

Love it as a nn for beatrix

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 16/10/2020 15:35

I read it in a kinda Alabama accent. It feels American and like a nickname. But it wouldn't be too out of place because a lot of popular names atm have a nickname feel.

Qwom · 16/10/2020 15:53

I think of Trixie Mattel ...

Doodar · 16/10/2020 16:11

its a dogs name

PoodleMoth · 17/10/2020 09:31

I love it!
