Heidi for our daughter

We are both in love with the name Heidi. Just wondering what people's opinions are on it? Trying to think long term for our daughter!

I do like it and think it would work as it's somewhat of an established name in English speaking countries. For me, it sounds too Germanic and I see that Heidi is a shortened form of some longer German names, that would put me off, but go for it if it works for you.

I don’t like it — too cutesy — and my fortysomething friend called Heidi loathes her name.

I have a ‘Heidi Elizabeth’.........love the name and she is the only Heidi in her primary school at the moment

DD was almost Heidi, I love it!

I don't like it, although it's skewed for me as I looked like the TV Heidi when I was a kid, so loads of people called me that!

I know a 40 year old Heidi who doesn’t like it as an adult.

Maybe! Though I thought she was older than 40!

If it is the same person, her dislike of the name relates in part to where she grew up...

I know a Heidi. Professional job, well known in her industry, and loves her name. Go for it!
