W name with a W surname!

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 16:22

My surname begins with a W and there is a boys name I really love that starts with a W. I’ve tried saying it out loud so many times but the two Ws together just sound terrible, especially as W isn’t a very strong sound so it sound a bit... can’t really think of the right word, but do you know what I mean? A bit like a speech impediment 😂
Anyone think the double W might actually be ok? I just love the name so much I’m sad I can’t use it.

@pinkyboots1 yeah I suppose the rest of the name Wyatt is quite strong so it gives the name a bit more oomph before the next W comes

I love an alliterative name... Makes a person more memorable, in my opinion!!

VictoriaBun · 28/09/2020 16:59

I was at school with a William Williams and an Andrew Allan .

MikeUniformMike · 28/09/2020 17:01

@pinkyboots1, most people are known as Firstname Surname. Always have been unless the first name was unusual.

ApocalypseNowt · 28/09/2020 17:01

I quite like Wyatt Williams. Sounds strong and for some reason literary. Smile

You may have found the exception that proves the rule!

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:02

@ApocalypseNowt ooh thank you 😁 I’m so torn now between thinking it’s naff and thinking it’s cool

@MikeUniformMike I think what pinkyboots might’ve meant is that it’s not like people will be going around saying hello Wyatt Williams, how’re you doing Wyatt Williams 😂 so not constantly saying the two names together

stepmotherofone · 28/09/2020 17:05

I like it!

Yorkshiredolls · 28/09/2020 17:08
@giantangryrooster are you my sister in law in disguise because she’s always trying to get me to pick daft initials for her amusement 😂
Can't say I blame her Grin.

Aquamarine1029 · 28/09/2020 17:13

I really love Wyatt Williams! I think it sounds fabulous. Just pick a middle name with a different letter!

NataliaOsipova · 28/09/2020 17:14

It sounds like a double barrelled surname to me - my concern would be that he will forever be asked “yes, but what’s your first name?”. My mother had a friend with the opposite problem - she was called Margaret Rose (ie Miss Rose), and was forever asked what her surname was....

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:18

@Aquamarine1029 ah thank you :) it’s starting to sound better the more I see/hear it

@bleachblondemom Wyatt Williams is a cool name OP 😎 I would go with it! DP and I both actually have names where first name and surname have the same initial. When we get married I will be taking his name but I won’t lie, I’ll be a bit gutted to lose my initials 🙈😂 I’ve always loved my initials lol. We also have a boys name picked out for our first baby due in a few weeks and it’s an MM name 😊

WouldBeGood · 28/09/2020 17:20

I really like it. It’s unusual but not wanky too 😃

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:21

@NataliaOsipova hmm I don’t know, is Wyatt a surname? I don’t think people will jump to that conclusion... but names sound different to everyone.
We do have another full boys name picked out where the middle name is actually used as a surname as well, I said to my husband people will just think that’s his name before they even get to the Williams bit 😆 still love it though

The more I think about Wyatt Williams the more I love it. Honestly, it's wonderful name. Strong and gentle at the same time, if that even makes sense! Grin

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:23

@RWK29 thank you it is quite cool I think 😏 MM initials work because it’s a good sounding syllable

@Aquamarine1029 aww such a nice thing to say 😊

Wyatt Oliver Williams has a real wow factor.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:26

@Dafspunk 😂😂 someone had to get one in there

NataliaOsipova · 28/09/2020 17:31

is Wyatt a surname?

Definitely - I can think of a few people I’ve met personally who are Mr or Miss Wyatt. But, as you rightly say, names sound different to different people.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:34

@NataliaOsipova oh ok! I haven’t personally but I believe you! I don’t mind that so much to be honest, if people did think it sounded like a double surname. To be honest the other boys names I like are all also used as surnames so I guess all of my future sons will just have surnames 😂
