Is Sienna too popular?

DH really likes it and although it's not a name I ever really considered before, I do see its charm. He also argues that we spent time there during our honeymoon and loved it. However I feel as though it's a bit popular atm. She will be my last baby and has three older brothers.

Sienna is beautiful

I absolutely loves the name Sienna for a very long time but it’s the popularity that put me off - in terms of the amount I know. As a teacher (I’m 37 weeks) the class I would have got has three siennas in it, there around probably another 5 across the school. But like a previous poster has said, that was 8/9 years ago these children were born at the moment it’s lower in popularity

Great name
I only know one Sienna who is about 7 and not met one since, which fits with the statistics as the name is far less used now than it was 7 years ago
Goes perfectly with sibling names too @calimommy

FlorenceNightshade · 27/09/2020 09:16

Definitely spell it after the city since that’s why it’s special to you. What a sweet story.

MikeUniformMike · 27/09/2020 16:25

Your taste is towards the classic but Sienna is a bit more modern. It's ok but I'm not keen.

Davespecifico · 27/09/2020 16:30

For my taste, it's a very pretty sounding name, but it's very common now.

calimommy · 27/09/2020 16:37

I also love the name Florence, which I'm still pondering. That they are both Italian cities is a coincidence although we have spent much time in both places and love them. We have plenty of time to decide and usually change our minds after a while anyway 😜

If we go with Siena it will be the single n spelling.

Well there are 20 in my workplace and two have grand daughters called Sienna, so yes It's getting very popular

calimommy · 27/09/2020 18:27

20! 😂 ok I'll bear that in mind haha

I think that RuthW meant 20 people not 20 Siennas. Grin

Whatsyourflava · 27/09/2020 18:37

@RuthW that's interesting! Funny how there's these little statistical anomalies because if you look at the statistics the name Sienna has been getting less and less used each and every year since 2013. Theres been a pretty big decrease in numbers so it certainly isn't getting more popular but obviously I totally understand why you got the sense it is because of your 2 work friends' grandchildren (I assume it's just those 2 and not that all 20 have a granddaughter called Sienna 🤣!! Think OP misunderstood!)

paintmywholehousepink · 27/09/2020 18:39

Sienna Rose
Sienna Charlotte

??

paintmywholehousepink · 27/09/2020 18:40

Florence is nicer than Siena IMO

RuthW · 27/09/2020 19:27

Florence is nicer, but far more popular. I have a 23 year old Florence and back then, people thought I was mad to give my baby an old lady's name.

calimommy · 27/09/2020 19:36

Yes I absolutely misread the 20 siennas comment haha that's what I get for multitasking

Siena Rose is lovely.

I know about 4 ranging from 6 to 10.

orangetriangle · 28/09/2020 21:09

I have also heard of a couple if Siannas if you like that
