@GoatsInBoats

How is Nina hard to say?
I think he means it doesn't roll off the tongue

What about Neala? It's Irish and similar to Nina and Leah.

Sertchgi123 · 15/09/2020 20:01

Anna is lovely, so classy.

Tillygetsit · 15/09/2020 22:42

I know it's seen as a bit granny but Nuala is pretty.

alphajuliet123 · 15/09/2020 23:01

Anya, Lena, Orla, Iona, Isla, Nia, Naomi, Phoebe, Freya, Xena!

Carina
Romina/Romy
Clara
Phoebe
Holly
Freya
Gemma
Anya

Bouncingbelle · 15/09/2020 23:44

Nina is gorgeous but does make me think of nee naw!

Lara is gorgeous and I like Nisha. I knew a girl called Lesia (pronounced Lesha) which I always thought was a nice name.

Shona?

ButterflyRuns · 15/09/2020 23:48

I don't think Nina is hard to say at all? but Anna is lovely and classic.

Deadringer · 15/09/2020 23:52

What about Laoise? A really pretty name and very similar to Naoise and Leah.

Goodoldfashionedploverboy · 16/09/2020 00:06

Naoise is gorgeous.

Also, how about Niska? (I’ve only heard it before in the TV series Humans but love it.)

Deadringer · 16/09/2020 00:08

Ciara is lovely too.

blowyernose · 16/09/2020 00:10

How about Nyla?

MaraScottie · 16/09/2020 00:10

How about Fia/Fiadh?

MercyBodle · 16/09/2020 01:19

If you like Anna but find it too popular, what about Anneliese?

ButterflyRuns · 16/09/2020 02:54

I love Lara as suggested by previous posters! I'd use it if I had another daughter

anotherleah · 16/09/2020 02:58

Ha! I had to name change to comment on your thread.

My name is Leah, and my mom and little sister are named Nina.

Love both names!

mumsymummum · 16/09/2020 03:03

If you're after a similar vibe to Leah how about another Old Testament name, such as:

Jemima
Abigail
Miriam
Esther
Hannah

KW4816 · 16/09/2020 13:36

What a dilema OP! However, with so many names out there I think any of us trying to name a child have been there one way or another Grin

I know of one Nina, her nickname was Neenaw...so yes I do like it but I can see perhaps why it wouldn't be used.

When I read over your post the names that came to mind were:

Lily/Lillia
Ava
Leila

We have recently found out we are expecting a baby boy, typical that we have had a girl's name picked out forever!! (Seren Elizabeth)

All the best I hope you agree on a name soon! Smile

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 16/09/2020 13:39

Aw, I love Nina!

It was on my shortlist, along with:

Kate
Rae
Lyra
Zora

5longdaystogo · 16/09/2020 14:10

I love the name Seren, i would have definitely considered that too but our surname also ends in an N and so it doesnt go.

Well he's basically now said we will go with Nina, i think he kept saying it over and over whereby it lost all meaning and sounded weird 🙈 which is the case with any name. Hopefully he doesn't change his mind again before she gets here
